I’m Loving My Uncluttered Office Space

Posted by: jude   in Work At Home

I don’t know if anyone else lets their work area get as messy as I sometimes managed to make mine. The area was too small to work in especially when I had to look up information for another blog that I maintain. I always dreaded going to my home office and getting started see below picture of my horrible mess.

We got the new desk a week or so ago and finally managed to get it upstairs and Bill put it together the other night, but I didn’t move it until last night because I dreaded taking everything apart and putting it back together. I’m such a procrastinator, but as you can see from the picture below, I finally did it. The desk is much bigger than it looks in the picture and I love it.

Now I’m much happier because I have all that uncluttered space to work in and I have room for everything, even Sadie still has her space and I can leave the balcony door open and view the outside, it’s less stressful now and more conducive for getting my work done and I actually enjoy walking into my office.

We are planning on getting a futon for this room so Bill will have a place to sit when he comes in, but he usually doesn’t bother me when I work, but my dogs do and Shadow likes to crawl around underneath and invariably he always disconnects some cords. Last night he had a horrible time with the lightening and thunder.

So now I’m in the mood to unclutter everything. I’m not a big collector, but somehow I managed to get a lot of Nascar memorabilia over the years and someday I plan on sorting through everything and sell it on Ebay. I told Bill I didn’t want any more stuff, this house is way too small, well I have to go so I’ll say Adios.

I am so happy to find that we are twins! LOL I hate the messes I make on my desk and long for the uncluttered look. :) You have given me some inspiration….that and the fact that my aunt and uncle are coming to visit next month. ;)

Hi Carol,
Thanks for stopping by. I am so delighted with my new working space. I stopped by your blog and was going to leave you a comment because I like the type of information you have, but I had a horrible time loading your blog for some reason.

When you clear clutter from your surroundings, you clear it from your life! Your head, thoughts can become more focused and often, body clutter disappears as well. I often start with clearing clutter in my weight management clients.

I love your new desk set up!

Hi Debbie,
Thanks for your comment and it’s true about the clutter, that’s why Feng Shui is so great.

I just found your blog and I must say it’s got a great look! VERY NICE!

I am a big fan of clean workspaces. The office is no different than a kitchen in my opinion (well, other than the appliances). I feel that it’s easier to work when you’re not distracted by clutter on the desk, or dishes in the sink. Cleaner is Better!

@ Bryan Thanks so much for your visit and comment. I always try to keep my blogs uncluttered, so now I will be able to do the same with my work space.

@ Lady Java I appreciate you stopping by and I love this template also. I had a problem with it at first, but it works great now.

I really love that new setup you have. Okay, I’m jealous!! :) My desk looks more like the top pic as does my husband’s. Our desks are side by side in the room. It would be awesome to have something like you have. I LOVE IT!!!

Hi Jaz…I have to admit that I really enjoy walking in here now. I’m grateful that I don’t have to share this room with anyone, not counting my puppers. I have room for everything now. Thanks for stopping by.

Great Job cleaning up!
It’s so nice to see that we aren’t the only ones to get so involved in a project that the place becomes an utter mess.

I to will get an uncluttered home office but for all the wrong reasons, I had a client I did medical billing for for over 12 years who decided to retire and sold his practice for MILLIONS of dollars leaving me with losing a cluttered office (good news) but losing half my income (bad news) so if anyone out there is looking for an experienced WAH medical biller I am your gal!!
