Detox Your Way To Health And Energy

Posted by: jude   in Senior Health

Many people are reluctant to talk about their  body functions and I find that hilarious because as you age that seems all the conversation we are interested in. We like to compare all our aches and pains and see who has the worst and advise our cronies of what helped us and how they can benefit from taking this product or that.

One subject that has gained momentum is how to detox our body and get rid of all the toxins that we build up. You hear about the celebrities going for body detoxification’s and I even watched it on television and thought to myself no way in hades would I humiliate myself like that, yeah I know these people are trained, but I don’t care.

I can still remember my Mama giving me enemas as a child because I was always constipated and to see myself going to a public facility to get rid of the toxins, no way. It became popular and fashionable with celebrities and then more people realized it was actually healthy for their bodies, but if I’m going to do that it will be at home without someone monitoring me.

Many people use many different products and programs for detoxing their body and each person must decide what is best for them. I use to fast, but sometimes I went to long, if you have eating disorders and even if you don’t you should always check with your doctor first, they can recommend a detox program that will benefit you, but I saw a product on television that was a natural way to detox your colon called Dual-Action Cleanse®

I would never go to a public place for a colon cleansing no matter what the benefits are and how they claim you can lose 20 pounds in one session, good for them. I do know that the safest way to detoxify is to do it the natural way with proper diet, but of course we don’t all do that.

I have tried everything else on the market even activia, but I still have problems. I envy people that have no problems and can cleanse their colon naturally with no help. Many people have no problem reducing the junk food they eat and avoid fats, alcohol, caffeine, and food additives and I like the fact they everyone is trying to eat healthier.

They eat lots of digestible vegetables and fruit that are rich in vitamins that help flush out the toxins, but sadly we don’t always get all the fiber we need to get rid of toxins so we need help and the product I mentioned above has so many natural herbs and nutrients I could never get them all by eating so it may serve me well, at least it would be more natural and I could detox in the privacy of my home.

Through the years I’ve had many different jobs, waitress, prep cook, short order cook, bartender, cocktail waitress, cashier, and Cosmetologist. Wonder which one I liked the best? No? Well, I’ll tell you anyhow. That would be bartender and the reason is because I didn’t have to take anybodies attitude I could flag them or bar, ban them if they really got out of hand.

That was also the only position where the customer wasn’t always right. Now how can you be in your right mind if your  under the influence?  So basically a bartender is the boss and has to know what all the LCB regulations are and follow them to the T. Ignorance of the law is not allowed unless you want to incur fines and get shut down, LCB can shut you down in a heartbeat.

People act so different when they are drinking so it’s good to know how to handle someone in that state and if your not good with people then I would suggest you stay away from that profession. You need to know when to put a limit on someone because you don’t want to be responsible for any sort of accident that might happen or pay any steep fines along with your employer.

People can get very upset when you cut them off, I have been called everything you could possibly imagine and had things thrown at me or near me, in those cases that got you a ticket to barrdom and actually a policeman told one customer when he complained that a reason really didn’t have to be specified that he could be barred because we didn’t like the color of his eyes. Oh the power, I loved it.

However, I eventually got tired of being responsible for other peoples equilibrium and making sure they had a ride home and actually babysitting them and listening to all their problems. Now that really brought me down because I was always an empathizer and would feel what they felt and having my own problems at the time made it a double whammy.

I hope I haven’t bored you with some of my past history, I simply felt like sharing my favorite job as bartender and why I liked it best. I have worked in the people business all my life, but it’s very stressful when it comes to dealing with people. I have been on all sides of the restaurant business and I can honestly say that the waitresses and waiters have the worst jobs because they get it from all sides.

Not only do the cooks yell at them when the customer doesn’t like his food, the customer is upset and blames the wait person, bartenders get upset if the customer complains about the way a drink was made and for whatever reason the wait person gets blamed for that also. The poor waitress or waiter is in the middle of everything and it’s just not fair.

I was reading an article at consumeraffairs.com about how lax the IRS has been about protecting people from identity theft and fraud. This issue has grown to alarming rates and it seems to happen a lot. Scams have been perpetrated on the older generation because they are vulnerable and easy prey, but now we really need to be concerned about identity theft.

Bill and I are keen on shredding everything, but when you file taxes all that information isn’t guarded as well as it should be and anyone can be at risk. I’m sure many of you already know about Lifelock and use it. It’s a good program that stands behind you and keeps your information guarded and will spend up to a million dollars to get your identity back and for 110 dollars a year that’s pretty good protection.

The IRS had 92,000 complaints connected with fraud and identity theft in the years of 05 and 06, now that’s very alarming. They should use a system like lifelock for better protection because it takes lots of money and expense to get your life back on your own. It’s not right to see anyone victimized in that way, but it bothers me most when I see it happen to older people that have worked hard all their lives and expected to retire in peace and relaxation to find everything had been stolen from them.

Still Paying A Student Loan At 54

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Happy Monday to everyone. I’m sure your tired of seeing the pictures of my desk by now so I’ll add a post and push it down. I don’t always post everyday, but I try. I know people hate to visit a blog that is never updated.

I know since I joined Entrecard that some blogs that I drop on has had the same post for over a week and when we go to Ohio in May that will also be the case here. People don’t always have the time to be on the Internet all the time posting, they do have real lives that needs attending to.

You may find this funny, but I’m still paying on a student loan, maybe I’ll get it paid off before I expire. Actually I did some training when I was 45 so I’ve had this loan for 9 years and I’m slowly getting it taken care of from paid posting since I don’t even practice in the field that I trained in now.

I’m sure everyone knows about those obligations and even though I’m not practising now I don’t want to lose my license because I may use it again someday and if you default on a student loan then there goes your license. Encase your wondering what the traning was I’ll tell you. I studied Cosmetology with a bunch of  children and enjoyed it.

I was the oldest student there and even older than most of the staff, but it was fun. That was something I had wanted to do since I was a young girl myself, but the opportunity never came around until I was 45 so when we have dreams they may not always happen when we think they should, but eventually they can come true.

I'm Loving My Uncluttered Office Space

Posted by: jude   in Work At Home

I don’t know if anyone else lets their work area get as messy as I sometimes managed to make mine. The area was too small to work in especially when I had to look up information for another blog that I maintain. I always dreaded going to my home office and getting started see below picture of my horrible mess.

We got the new desk a week or so ago and finally managed to get it upstairs and Bill put it together the other night, but I didn’t move it until last night because I dreaded taking everything apart and putting it back together. I’m such a procrastinator, but as you can see from the picture below, I finally did it. The desk is much bigger than it looks in the picture and I love it.

Now I’m much happier because I have all that uncluttered space to work in and I have room for everything, even Sadie still has her space and I can leave the balcony door open and view the outside, it’s less stressful now and more conducive for getting my work done and I actually enjoy walking into my office.

We are planning on getting a futon for this room so Bill will have a place to sit when he comes in, but he usually doesn’t bother me when I work, but my dogs do and Shadow likes to crawl around underneath and invariably he always disconnects some cords. Last night he had a horrible time with the lightening and thunder.

So now I’m in the mood to unclutter everything. I’m not a big collector, but somehow I managed to get a lot of Nascar memorabilia over the years and someday I plan on sorting through everything and sell it on Ebay. I told Bill I didn’t want any more stuff, this house is way too small, well I have to go so I’ll say Adios.
