Always Fun At Gettysburg Bike Week

Posted by: jude   in Harley Seniors

When we took a ride last Saturday we didn’t realize that one of Bill’s foot pegs dropped off while we were riding, so we have to find another one this week. I can’t wait till it gets warm so we can ride more. Last year when we went to Gettysburg Bike week we had a fun time, but we do every year and we really love going to all the different bike events.

Below is a picture of a bike that we took that someone had turned into a buffalo which was fun, but I do think it would be very uncomfortable to ride, but it’s very unique. This year I’ll be taking a lot more pictures to share of all the fantastic bikes and all the fun that goes on. It’s almost like a carnival atmosphere for adults.

Every year when we had the Softtail we would get something painted on freehand, man that guy was good and it was really hard to give up that bike. There is nothing like seeing those roads taken over by thousands of bikes. People come from all over and also for Bike Night in York, we always make the trip downtown and watch the parade because it’s fun and we really enjoy checking out everyone else’s bike.

During bike week in Gettysburg they also have a man that makes sand art. I had never seen anyone actually do it before, but I have seen pictures of some great sculptures on the beach. This guy really does a fantastic job and you can see the bike he is sculpting in the back ground. I wish we had gone back the next day so I could have gotten a look at the finished sculpture. Below is a picture so you can see the great work he does.

I'm A Tax Paying Procrastinator

Posted by: jude   in Work At Home

I finally got around to figuring up how much money I made last year from the Internet then I had to figure out everything I paid out, that was a pain, but thank goodness for my PayPal spread sheet that made everything so much better and since I received my 1099 I didn’t even have to mess with figuring up all those payments.

I am the biggest procrastinator around, but I have never had to pay self employment taxes before so I waited to almost the very last minute. I think I’ll try to do it myself tomorrow and if I find that I don’t have a clue, which I don’t I’ll have my friend at H&R do it instead and since I have a coupon for 30 dollars it shouldn’t cost me an arm an leg.

This will be the first time that I will actually have to pay out. Even though I have an actual home office I don’t want to go through all the hassle of figuring out sq footage and all that stuff. If I made tons of money then I would probably itemize everything that I use for business that would then make sense. I really should take a class on how to prepare taxes. I have always done the EZ so it was simple to do.

Of course if I was getting money back I would have sent it in a long time ago. Can you believe it’s April already, dang my year is almost gone again, but at least the weather will start getting nice enough to take some long bike rides soon. We always look so forward to that. I will say goodnight because I have to cut some hair tomorrow plus get those taxes done.
