Is This WordPress Theme Working Right?

Well, one thing I can say for sure is that I certainly admire technical people. I have spent the last week tearing this Wordpress theme apart and modifying it so it doesn’t look exactly like all the other ones on Entrecard and it wasn’t fricken easy. This whole theme is put together in tiny pieces and just like writing a piece of code if you have a dot or coma out of place you can spend hours looking for it. I am dead tired It’s almost 10:30 am and I still haven’t gone to bed.

Yea the weekend is here and I’m sure everyone has big plans, but if I don’t go take a nap I wont get to enjoy any of it. I hope those of you that usually drop here will let me know if this blog template looks okay, and works right. I’m sure I will have to do a lot of readjusting to make it okay. I like free stuff and it’s great when you can modify something any way you want as long as you leave the persons link that put it together in the first place.

I was like some of those men that throw the instructions away when putting something together and has about 50 things left over that should go somewhere, but at a certain point you just don’t care. I’m thinking I will have to have someone make one for me that knows what they are doing further down the line unless this one holds up. I’m really sorry for any of you guys that stopped by in between my testing and if it was screwed up I certainly do apologise.

oooh pretty! nice job on the theme :) I like the lighter color parchment and the header image if lovely.

I use the original parchment type type for my Stir the Cauldron blog – which I had the know how to fiddle with it but I would just make a big mess of things

It looks very nice. I hate when it messes up and you have to search for that on comma that is out of place. Have a great weekend.

The only template thing I notice is that your header would look better centred. I didn’t like WordPress cause it was too complicated. Always had some new bug, got a ton of spam comments and very few of the templates offered would actually load or work at all once I loaded them. I love Blogger, it is fun to make changes and the only thing I ever lose are a few widgets which I had too many of anyway. :)

Yes, everything seems to be working properly as far as I can tell and the new theme looks nice, I like the picture in the header a lot. Hope you got your nap in! :-)

Hi, this certainly looks Great to me. You’ve done more than I have dared to do, and I’ve put web pages together before, but not Wordpress. And if you get this comment, I’ll give you tops marks.

@ Karen thanks very much, I like the lighter color better also even though there are a few mustard colors left.

@ Lady Rose.. I really appreciate your comment and I know you use the original. I love that whole template and hated getting rid of it, but it seems like everyone is using it in Ec now and I hate to be just one more.

@Karen and Vixen….Thanks for your kind words and for leaving your observations I really worked hard on this.

@ Laura… I’m not sure I understand what you are saying about the header needing to be centered because it fits across the whole top in both my IE and FF. Explain better please so I know what you are refering to.

@ Carole… Thanks for stopping you are such a sweet person. You do know that I also have 2 other blogs right?…One is Beauty Denominator and Judes Eclectic Resources. I napped for 3 and 1/2 hours.

Hi Robert Bourne I appreciate your letting me know that it looks okay, but if it looks off center or something could you please let me know? Someone said it wasn’t centered and I don’t understand.

You’re theme is really cool, I know what a pain it is to try to manipulate pages in wordpress. The only couple of things I noticed is the header like Laura said, I have a large monitor so it doesn’t exactly line up over the content. An easy fix is to set fixed width for the header and put the margins at 0 auto that should center the header and the recent viewers section could be moved a couple of pixels to the left. Awesome work though!

Wow, you have done a great job! I really like this blog, been here to drop ec almost everyday, can’t believe my eyes when I came here (^_^) This is really a fresh and beautiful look.. congratulations!

The theme looks great and what Laura means is that unless your screen resolution is set lower than mine (which is 1152×864), the header is left aligned, so doesn’t go all the way across the screen. If it were centered, it would be a tiny bit more neat looking. It’s not terrible left aligned like it is, so don’t get too worked up over it.

There also aren’t all that many people who view things at these higher resolutions, so they won’t even notice where the header is aligned.

I think, too the tree trunk on the left of the header image may make you think the header is lined up oddly.

All in all you’ve done an admirable job! Congratulations!
