I trust we all survived the fireworks and celebrations with family and friends. I must say our weekend was good despite the rain and we saw the fireworks even though it was overcast, but they weren’t as good as the past years. It sounded like a big block party around here. The whole neighborhood was doing their own backyard celebrating and everyone had their own fireworks displays. Lots of noise and thank God no one complained of any backfires or injuries at least where I live.
Every time we rode the bike this weekend we ended up in the rain and it doesn’t feel very good when those rain drops pelt you. Not my favorite type of weather for riding. I have managed to get almost 300 miles on my scooter so it’s soon time to take it in for it’s checkup. We found 2 rebels this weekend, but apparently they are snapped up pretty quick because they are great starter bikes. I know I’ll find one soon because I want one.
Nate actually got on Pappy’s Harley for the first time and let Pappy take him up the drive. He has always been afraid of the noise, so this was a milestone for both of them, Jodie got a picture so I’ll be sure to post it when I get a copy. Little guy bowed his little head though so he wasn’t really looking at anything as they passed. I’m quite sure he was saying a prayer because he does that a lot. Nate tends to be afraid of a lot of things, but he’s trying to be more adventuress.
We took him to the carnival a year ago and spent 20 dollars for a ride bracelet and he wouldn’t get on any rides, but his little girl cousin wanted to ride everything so at least her bracelet wasn’t a waste. We also found out that he refuses to pee outside even if he is hidden behind a big truck. That doesn’t usually deter most little boys they seem to whip it out any where, but not Nate. Pappy had to walk a mile with Nate to the public bathroom just so the little guy could pee.
Nate’s baby sister is due the 19th of August even though he decided he wanted a brother at first because as he said he has so much stuff a little brother could use he is now accepting the fact that it will be a female. He is pretty excited about all the stuff he is going to teach her and I think he will make an excellent big brother. He’s a very funny child and he’s so smart and cautious for a 6 year old. Okay enough about the Grandson I need to go heat up the leftovers.
