Some older women look great with long hair that they put up in a chignon or some other type up do, but usually they have the coveted smooth straight hair that works well and fits their face. Older women look best with a shorter hair style and that’s a fact. I let my hair grow so I could put it up and look distinguished and elegant, but it isn’t working out that way.

I have the dreaded curly frizzy hair that the longer it grows the more I look like Bozo or Ronald McDonald and have often been mistaken for a twin of either except it isn’t that putrid orange or whatever color they have. I have decided to cut it short and not concern myself with it any more because it is out of control now and when I ride the bike it gets horribly tangled.

I only have myself to please because I know Bill would love me any way that I look so long as I’m happy then so is he. Just like when I cut his hair and the guard flipped off and made a big boo boo in the back of his head I really had to work hard to clean up that mess and God love him he didn’t even get mad at me and I still loved him even though he had no hair in the back for awhile.

I don’t know if you ever saw Sling Blade that Billy Bob ThorntonĀ  wrote, directed, and starred in as Karl, but Bill loved that movie and was always mimicking him and really getting on my nerves, butĀ he sounds just like him, well after I was finished he looked like him too. I’m really laughing quite hard right now just remembering it and the guys at work called him Karl for the longest time.

At any rate it’s time for a change and I think I’ll be much happier when I don’t look like the twin of Ronald or Bozo even Nate draws me with big hair so I think I’ll surprise him.

Your Bill sounds like the nicest guy, I’m glad you have such a good man! :-)

Well, I do agree that most women look better in shorter hair as we get older, but like you, I like a sense of length. I keep mine chin-length in front and shorter in back so at least my hair moves in the breeze rather than seeming like a helmut.

Funnily enough I have been talking about having my hair very short again for the last week.

At the moment it is in an unruly bob and as I am a lazy so and so I hate having to use the dryer to dry and style it.

I much prefer being able to get out of the shower or swimming baths and just rub a towel over it.

I also agree that once one reaches a certain age the majority of us do look better with sorter hair.

Your post has made my mind up for me – early next week I am off to the hairdresser.

I keep my hair just off my shoulders but I’m due for a cut…. it’s driving me crazy! And I wish it had enough body to frizz a little… ;)

My hair changes all the time. I wear it short for a while and then it is long again. Depends on my weight. With short hair I look like a swollen tick! Sling Blade was such a great movie. Does your hubby still act like him since he took so much ribbing at work? Too funny!

Thanks for the comments and I trimmed all the frizz and curls this weekend. It feels a lot better and Bill likes it. Bill does still imitate Karl at times, but not like before. I hope everyone had a great weekend.
