The last time I was there in 2003, my son and I took that helicopter ride - the first time for both of us in a chopper. We'd tour the horse barns, the buildings of exhibits, eat everything that smelled good, and ride the rides when we digested (tough lesson learned from years past, ahem). I have yet to see another that compares to the NY State Fair. Oh, how I loved the NY State Fair! The last time I was there in 2003, my son and I took that helicopter ride – the first time for both of us in a chopper. I have since I was a kid. Now, I have kids of my own and always try to take them to as many fairs as I can. My wife and I work in politics, so we also try to get as many candidates as possible to go chat with voters at county fairs. It is a great way for us to mix work and fun, and more importantly, I want to support candidates that feel comfortable standing in a barn next to a 4-Hers prize sheep talking about what is right with America and what can be done to make our country better. I LOVE county fairs. I have since I was a kid. Now, I have kids of my own and always try to take them to as many fairs as I can.
