I like so many others looking to draw more visitors to their blog signed up for Adgitize. I have been with them for 3 months and 2 of those I have been an advertiser at 14 dollars a month. I think after this month I will have to re-think the whole thing. I think I appreciate the traffic I get from Entrecard for free because I’ve met so many really nice people through them and most of those are the ones using Adgitize now to get more visitors, but are you or is it the same?

Although many people say that they have made lots of money through Adgitize I certainly have not. After 3 months I’m not even up to 10 dollars and that includes extra points for writing my posts, I have never been great at marketing, but I do try sometimes, but I’m not great at selling things. The only thing I was ever able to sell without opening my mouth was booze when I tended bar too bad everything isn’t that easy.

I keep reading about how great Adgitize is, but I haven’t decided that for myself yet. Half the time it doesn’t even work. I guess some people are just better at pushing a program, but even if someone signs up under you the pay out is only a one time 5 dollar finder fee then 1 dollar a month as long as they remain an advertiser. I have noticed that some people that had it on their blog have now removed it. Have any of you that use it had problems?

Update: I just read this on the Adgitize site:
“It seems that our database server is down currently. We’re doing everything in our power to move it along, unfortunately we don’t have much power over these things. We were assured it will be back up soon, admittedly we were hoping it would be up by now. Once everything is back up all current advertisers will receive a one week extension on their ad to make up for the lost time. Thank you for your continued patience and I am sincerely sorry for the inconvenience!”

At first I had thought they didn’t like my post above because I was questioning the validity of the program, but then I saw they were down on everyone’s blog and then I didn’t feel so bad. At first I thought they had deleted me because I couldn’t log in. I had read on the Entrecard forum that someone had written a post and was censored and had their ad removed, which I thought was bad since they had been approved for their content beforehand…. Okay enough from me…Goodnight!

Well, I don’t do Adgitize but I do use Project Wonderful and Adsense (as I have a Blogger blog). I make virtually nothing from Adsense and maybe a few cents a day from PW. I certainly would NEVER spend any money to promote my blog that wasn’t covered by income (I have recently placed a few ads on PW but I don’t intend to tap very deeply into the small account I have built up there.) No, I am not making any money blogging and that’s okay. But I certainly do NOT intend to lose any money blogging.

Thanks Patricia you make a very valid point for not wasting my money. I don’t like to feel like I’m wasting my money by getting the same bloggers that I would already be getting from Entrecard.

Being fairly new to Entrecard, I’m still in the stage of seeing how it works out. I’d like to monetize my blog, and another that I’ll be starting in a few weeks, so reports like yours are helpful in learning about what works and what doesn’t. Thanks.

There are so many ways to get traffic to your blog for free. I don’t ever pay for traffic. I’ve paid for TRAINING on how to get free traffic, but not for traffic. They key is getting traffic that’s targeted to you. I teach a course on it.

You have to begin with a question. Put yourself in the shoes of your visitors and ask yourself “what does this person do? How do they make money?” If your visitors can’t answer that question by reading your about me or the first page of your blog, you are simply another blogger in the vast sea of bloggers out there. Entertainment. Nothing more.

Is that your intention? Do you blog just for the fun of it or do you want to make money with it? I have fun blogging, but my goal is to make money. Anyone who comes to my blog knows what I sell, knows what I do for a living. What do you do?

Something to think about. Good luck to you.

GREAT blog template by the way. :-)

There seems to be somewhat of a divide here, Roxanne. Your emphasis, as I understand it, is making money and selling a product or service. My goal, and apparently the goal of the other commenters (and of Jan) is to blog about what interests us, but also make some money from it. I’m not sure the same methods would always work for both.

I’m with you. This is the 2nd time I’ve placed an ad with adgetize at $14 and have yet to reach $10. I’m thinking of eliminating it as well.

I was just thinking about Adgitize the other day. I was thinking I was going to remove it from my blog too for very similar reasons when I noticed that the ads where down. I tried to sign into my account and I can’t get in. Apparently their server is down and has been down for 2 or 3 days. So I don’t know what’s going on or what’s going to happen. But I still think Entrecard is a better deal and way more fun :)

too bad Adgitize is not working for you. i earned almost US$30 last Nov and Dec, 2008 from them. and I returned $14 for a January advertising on their network.

as you can see, i did not spend any single penny for this network.

i actually posted a proof of payment on my site at http://www.blogdemanila.com/adgitize-pays-real-money/.

what you can do is that, take a month break from them and see overall results of your site such as traffic.

The same methods work, however, how are you intending to make the money from your blogging? I see a few ads on your sidebar, but, there’s very little chance you’re making much with them.

My only point was that if you want to make money blogging, you need to be clear about how you will make that money. Paying for traffic isn’t going to make you money. Learn how to get targeted visitors. In order to do that you have to be clear about what your visitors will do when they get here. If you don’t know what you want them to do, how will they do it?

I don’t think there’s a difference at all. Your “Many Uses of Honey” ebook is a product. It looks like a great product. BUT, you need to target people who want the information. If you structured your offer correctly, you could sell a lot more of them and make more money. It’s a great order page, but you need a squeeze page in between. You could build a list of people interested in something like that by giving away a free report with just a couple uses of honey in it. Once they read a few uses (after giving you their email and name) they will be more likely to buy your book. Then you could find a similar product, set up an affiliate account and promote that to your list as well as your honey book.

There are many, many more ways that you can make money. Blog about what you want and build a list. I do it all the time. There is no rhyme or reason to my blog and people like that. It’s like a soap opera. They come back to see what’s going on today. While they are there, they click on things and some buy products and services. If you look back through my posts you will see that my blogging focus is definitely not all on making money. When I run a course, I blog about it. Sure. But I blog about a lot of other things too. Most of the people that I’m promoting my course to are already signed up to my list through my sidebar. They have opted in for my newsletter. The recent blog posts are mainly for the search engines and whoever else comes across them while I’m testing Entrecard out. I love to test things. I have the money to spend, but won’t. I test free things so I can give value to my list of subscribers. Most of them don’t have the money yet to buy traffic plus it’s not duplicatable so I won’t ever teach anyone to buy traffic. It may be right for you, but it’s not for me. That was my only point.

Good luck to you!!

Roxanne

Thanks for everyone’s input and for commenting. Roxanne I think you have me confused with Catana, but Catana did speak for me very well.

I think the traffic from Entrecard is great and if I hadn’t tried Adgitize then I wouldn’t have known for myself..

Thanks for your suggestions for my blog Roxanne, but I do okay…Jude

I have not made anything from Adgitize and half the time they are down so how can we make any money from them? I don’t make anything from Adsense because visitors to your blog are sometimes stingy (at least I feel they are). That is what ads are there for to help others out, but the world has changed so much and it seems to be people are less giving these days then they use to be, there more for themselves then helping others out. My husband and I are both laid off and he is the only one that can draw unemployment, I am getting ready to have surgery and will be down for 2 months or more. I have done everything I can think of to get people to my blog and hopefully click, which I do get traffic but they don’t click on any ads. It’s a dog eat dog world anymore, and that is sad. I spread the love if someone has Google ads, I click on one or two for them, or whatever ads they may have to bring in money, but never get any love back. All I heard was how much people were making from Adgitize and Blogging altogether, I have not made anything. If people are making big bucks with Adgitize and Adsense, I sure would like to know how, because I have not made nothing, and when I need it the most.

Jodi, I sympathize with you, but I don’t agree with your thinking about advertising. Advertising provides a service; it isn’t about stinginess or spreading love. People click on ads that offer something they may need or want, or be interested in. These are hard times for many, not just for you, and there is going to be a drop in ad revenues for everybody. It’s a fact of life we can’t wish away. If advertising isn’t bringing in any income, then you need to look in other directions, not blame people for not being giving enough.

In case you’re not aware of this, be *very* careful about clicking on people’s Adsense ads. Too much of that will alert Google and they will delete the person’s account. They’re very picky about non-productive clicks, and consider them a form of fraud.

Jude, you’re probably not going to make big bucks from this, but at least right now, it’s really cheap advertising with some quality blogs and a really nice forum – it’s CMF Ads at http://www.cmfads.com/. It’s run by a couple of old entrecarders – Ben (who used to be a mod in the forum, super nice guy), Turnip, and Stan from Razzball (I think he still may belong to Entrecard). I haven’t bought any ads myself – I’m going to wait until the month is up and I get the credits people paid to advertise on MY blog to advertise on other blogs, so I’m not even going to spend any money yet… I don’t get anything for referring you or anything like that – just thought it might be something you could check out for some free or low cost advertising…

I just signed up at adgitized as a publisher. And I hope I’ll be able to earn from there.

I see you still use entrecard. I think as your traffic builds up, adgitize becomes more profitable. Also it has alot to do with how many ads are shown on your page as well.

Roxanne, Im curious, why would you pay to learn how to get free traffic instead of just paying for the traffic directly? Atleast that way, some of that traffic may be returning.

Already sign up with Adgitize, but never serious about it. It’s no use to advertise on Adgitize if you don’t have a lot of traffic, lack of blog posting, click on others ads and etc.
You still need to spend a few hours everyday by doing it. $14 is not worth it, just stick with Publisher account…

I don’t find any of the blog ad networks are making money for me. But, I’m not focused on making money from my blog. I do it cause I like the writing. Of the ad networks the only one I really put time into is CMF Ads. I like the forums for getting help with ideas or little problems that come up. Someone always helps me out there.

Hmm.. I have been making some decent traffic and my clicks and posts cover the cost. However right now at 17:46 GMT the Adgitize site is down (again) – not sure what’s up with them…

Well I have to chime in here. I have been with EC for quite a while now and I receive alot of traffic from them along with meeting many wonderful bloggers.

I signed up months ago with Adigitze only as a publisher and got paid about every two to three months. I decided on January first this year to sign up as an advertiser. I publish an article a day, I make my 51 drops each day and I have my ads on my blogs. It hasn’t even been a full month yet and I’ve reached what I paid for the advertising and the hits to my blog have tripled per day. So, for me it is working. I actually do alot of advertising and promoting of my blog so that probably helps as well but I am completely satisfied and happy with Adgitize.

I have just been advertising on Adgitize for a month and I must say they really send some traffic.

Its downtime is giving me a poor impression but at least they compensate us with an extension.

As for breaking even the ad cost, I can’t do that..yet.
