I learned from my mother a long time ago. She thought nothing of hunting down the dress I'd just tried on and checking every one on the rack till she found one that had a smudge of dirt or a pull in the seam, then taking it to the floor manager and asking if they'd take something off the price. They almost always did, too. I was always embarrassed to do it - until I realized that it's part of the price of doing business. Now I -always- ask about promotions and special deals whenever I call the cable company for any reason, even to pay my bill. It’s so true. I learned from my mother a long time ago.
