I was wondering what type of watch the majority of people own and how many and the most expensive in their collection. I’m sure a watch is a necessity for many, but how particular are you when it comes to picking one out. I know in the past I have had a hard time picking one out for a man because everyone has different taste and they usually get returned for a different type and then I feel like a tightwad because I didn’t spend enough and they add more to it to get a more expensive one.

I was always picky about my watches and have also returned a few that someone had bought me. I don’t like a small faced watch and it has to be round and simple, but with big numbers. I don’t like fancy and it doesn’t have to be expensive because like I said I’ve always been very rough on them. I am not big on accessorizing and I don’t even carry a handbag any more and lately I have even removed my rings and necklace.

I have 3 different watches that I never wear any more because I simply don’t care about watching the time tick by. When I was working though I needed a watch, but not now besides I counted all of the clocks in our house and there are 8 all together or 9 counting my computer. Bill has 2 that he wears, one for work and one for the weekends, one is an expensive one and the other is a Timex and since we’re always together on the weekends if I need to know the time then he has it.

Many people own more than 1 watch that they wear with different outfits and for different events. For many people they are a status symbol and the more expensive the greater the success, like the Rolex. I remember years ago when the Redskins won the Super Bowl the quarterback presented some of the players with one. Technomarine watches seem to be the in thing with the sports crowd now a days because of the durability. To each his own, but I was always very hard on watches so I always bought the under 25 cheap ones, maybe that’s why they didn’t last.

I like the big plain ones from the $2 shop. I can read the time without my specs, and when the battery dies I just get a new one! Even then, I don’t wear a watch very often now, because I always have my mobile phone with me.

I haven’t worn a watch is approx 10 years.

When the band broke, I carried it around in my bag. Then one day I realized I never used it. Oddly enough, there was always a clock around when I need it.

Hi Jude, been busy last couple days and haven’t gotten my adgitize surfin done, but back again. When I first moved to the “desert”, I forgot I even had a watch. My previous life in Ohio demanded a watch. Since I worked around water and boats for 6 mos. I needed one that was water proof. My choice was an Ironman digital (with large numbers) by Timex. In Utah, away from the hustle and bustle, time didn’t seem to matter anymore, But I still have my trusty Times Ironman and love it. It lends itself well to farm working conditions when I remember to put it on.

I sorta quit wearing a watch because I become so darned dependent on them. I like not knowing what time it is, and besides, everywhere you look (computer, cell phone, etc) tells me what time it is.
