It’s hard to believe it’s April already and it still doesn’t feel like Spring yet even though I do see more green and will probably have to start mowing next week. It’s raining out now so that always puts a damper on things, but it also helps all those beautiful flowers to grow. I need to get in the self-motivation mode and stop procrastinating because I have so much to do. It’s the weekend again and they are coming and going very quickly at least for me.

Everyone is feeling the stress with our economic downfall and it doesn’t look like it’s going to get better any time soon. Everyone knows that stress can cause many health problems because your body causes chemical changes in your brain which can lead to lack of energy, depression, tension, anxiety, headaches, sleep problems, back and neck pains, weight loss or gain, and high blood pressure. We all know the healthy proper ways to take care of ourselves, but we don’t always do them.

We know that smoking, alcohol and drugs are not the way to deal with stress, but they are habits some of us adopt over the years to seemingly help us cope and we honestly know that they are making our health deteriorate which causes even more stress because many can’t even afford to see a doctor, of course if we used that money we spent on all those unhealthy habits we probably could. We know we should get plenty of rest, exercise, and eat well which includes a large amount of fruits and vegetables as well as proteins.

When we feel stressed it’s certainly hard to muster up motivation for ourselves or to help motivate anyone else we are just to tired to even bother. We may be so wrapped up in these stressful thoughts that we fail to even see what is happening to us. There are free clinics out there that offer help for those that can’t afford it and professional help really should be sought when you realize your having sleeping problems due to anxiety, extreme irritability, thoughts of suicide, loss of appetite and noticeable weight loss, and a feeling of isolation or a desire to be isolated from other people.

Okay I’m getting stressed so that’s enough about stress. Sometimes I really think I should change the name of this blog to Immature And Senile. At times I type things that seem to alienate people and cause them to respond negatively or not respond at all and just stop bothering to read because they judge me to be nuts. What motivates us to share personal thoughts with perfect strangers? Can you really express yourself on a blog and be totally honest or do you hold back so you don’t lose readers?

Would it bother me to have my family read my blog and know how I actually think and feel about things? My Mother if she were still alive would probably read it and it wouldn’t bother me, but none of the rest care one way or the other because they all struggle with their own lives and really don’t care, even Bill doesn’t read my blog unless I make him listen to some of my drivel and then he tells me exactly what I want to hear, he’s very diplomatic.

None of my family ever reads my blog and that’s okay with me. I guess I don’t write personal or negative things about them–why? Because they are family and I was brought up not to air family’s dirty laundry. Come to think of it–I write children’s books and none of my family read those either. They have never been very impressed that I am a writer–I feel like they condescendingly pat me on the head and say, “That’s nice, Dear.” Oops–just aired family dirty laundry :-)

I just found out my oldest daughter has been “lurking” on my blog. I would probably know that if I bothered to check my sitemeter info. She doesn’t comment or anything, but she made a comment to me about something I wrote about. So, I don’t get too personal on mine. I did give personal opinions on another blog I have but was criticized and downright ridiculed by those with opposing opinions so now it has become my “hero blog”.

PS. I’ll keep reading your blog. I think your posts are interesting and you do often express things I think about!

I agree that stress seems to breed more stress and yes we all have some sort of a habit that adds to it all, be it smoking, alchohol or just plain stressing!! I’m guilty of this I know.
I don’t think many of family read my blog, except my husband and yes he’s like your diplomatic, lol!!
Thank you for your good advice and kind words on my blog when I was stressing this week. They were much appreciated and helped me get things back in proportion.

You need to focus on the positive side. Stressing times get more stressful if you keep on focusing on it. There are few things you cant change so let them be. Just take your heart out once & then keep moving forward you will definitely find peace of mind very soon. Take care.

I read it somewhere that stress is like holding a glass of water too long. It’s no sweat the first few minutes. After a while, you’ll begin to feel tired. The longer you hold the glass, the heavier it seems. But all the times, the weigh of the glass remains the same.

So, put down the glass. Relax. And have a drink.

My family typically do not read my blogs–except maybe once in a while, so I have to be careful. My husband reads dozens of blogs daily–not mine, so I can bash him all I want. :)

Hi Jude

I keep up with you through my RSS reader, though you will never be aware of this unless I leave a comment. Yeah I know, I’m over due.

Life is sort of that way. As many of life’s benefits and wonders are subtle and easy to overlook, take for granted or completely forget. But they are always there.

Though the current economy, for example, is a potential stressor for the majority of people, it should be viewed more as a concern and be balanced with what we do have in our life that is good. This amazingly reduces the effects of stress.

As far as people I know personally, such as family, neighbors and friends, visiting my site, only one neighbor and my son visits from time to time.

This doesn’t bother me as I probably would be self conscious if I knew that family read my blog, though there really isn’t much in the way of personal information on my site.

As soon as the weather is nice enough to ride the Harley, get on it with Bill, relax and feel free. It’ll do wonders for you :)

Luv you friend. Wishing you many blessings

My mom kept irritating about mine until I finally gave her the web address so now I have to censor what I say in regards to her and hope I never said something that bad in the past. If I ever want a place to publicly vent about her, I’ll have to start a new blog under a different account name.

I still vent about my sister all the time, though. I just keep telling my mom to clear the cookies and cache after she reads it or just read it at work so my sister will never know.

I think we all deal with stress, and every other emotion, differently, and based more on your own environment and perspective than not. For this reason, all the advice in the world will do no good, whether it doesn’t work, or doesn’t sound like it would work. The trick is to find your own way of dealing with stressors.

I have no choice but to say what is on my mind! That’s the way I am. I recently wrote about something I strongly believe in and lost half of my RSS subscribers. On the surface, that feels crappy, but in the end, those that accept differing points of view enough to explore them are the ones I’d prefer!

Like you, Jude!!!

What motivates us to share personal thoughts with perfect strangers? Can you really express yourself on a blog and be totally honest or do you hold back so you don’t lose readers?

its really hard to express your personal thoughts to total stranger unless you really want to…

i’m also in stress and i’m having a vacation for few days, vacations maybe the solutions.

cheers my friend!!!!

I can identify with all of this, but it will pass, yes? I always try to remember that part when I’m in a funk.
