Music is very powerful and it affects all of us in different ways. I know everyone has their favorite songs and when you hear certain ones they can bring back so many memories. There is one song that affects me deeply and it is the one I have posted below. I’m sure you’ll enjoy listening and I also posted the words. When my Son died Chris took her assortment of pictures to the funeral home, but they were of her wedding and her life with Eric.

Thankfully she did choose a couple of Eric’s younger pictures that I had taken down with me, but she chose not to include any of me and Eric although she did include one of Eric and his stepfather. The funeral home made a DVD of all those pictures and used the song below as the background music. I find myself watching that video over and over and I simply can’t hold back the tears. I posted one of the pictures from the DVD below.

Remember that old saying “A son is a son until he takes a wife, but a daughter is a daughter all of her life”? Well, it really is true when our sons get married we lose them we become the second most important woman in their life which was fine with me I could deal with that, but I always hated that shut out feeling. If you have a daughter-in-law that treats you as good as her own Mother and calls you all the time and asks for advice then cherish it because your very lucky.
