Bill really wants to ride a trike and see if he likes them before buying one because they’re very expensive. A new one costs around 35 thousand, but they have a kit for about 15 thousand that can be added to your existing bike if the dealer does it for you. If you’re a DIY type person you can purchase the kit for about 8 thousand. His Harley has around 58 thousand miles which really isn’t bad according to the guy that owns Laugermans, but Bill thinks that’s too many miles to invest the money for the kit so he’s looking at a new or used one with a lot less miles.

Personally I would feel safer on a trike because we are getting older and he certainly doesn’t want to give up riding. I keep telling him he wont have to worry about dropping it which has almost happened a couple of times, but he’s pretty strong and always saved it, but sometimes I think of what might happen if a deer or rabbit runs in our path. Of course we both know people that this has happened to and they have been seriously injured or killed. We are responsible riders of course (except for me I hate wearing a helmet) and I always try to banish those thoughts from my mind as soon as they enter.

We basically only ride on weekends right now and never at night and we always try to take a route that doesn’t have a lot of traffic. Of course when he retires I’m quite sure we will be riding a lot more during the week. Bill always needs a destination and always asks where we are going to ride to and I’m never any help because I’m more interested in the ride than the destination so I really don’t care where we go or which direction as long as it has lots of scenery and stuff for me to look at. We’re planning on a trip to Ohio and a trike would certainly make it a lot easier on us.

Men are so funny because they get weird ideas in their head like not feeling like a man anymore because they went to a three wheeler instead of the two. I see so many young men riding trikes and it doesn’t seem to bother them, but I also see a lot of older people on them because they simply aren’t ready to give up riding and the freedom you feel when you’re on a bike. Bill loves my little scooter and has a blast and it doesn’t bother him at all when some big old tough guy goes riding past on a big bad Harley he just grins at them. My little scooter is fun and it’s very reasonable on gas the only problem is I can’t ride in the Winter time.

If he’s going to do this he better do it before he retires because there will be a lot less money. He’s only ever had one brand new bike in the 46 years he’s been riding so he’s due and he deserves whatever he chooses and so long as he doesn’t mortgage the house to get it then I’m fine. He now says he can’t afford to retire at 62, but I keep telling him we can actually survive on very little and if he gets bored he can always work part time doing whatever he pleases. The guys he works with are all saying if he retires they are all quitting.

Actually if he retires I don’t see that little company lasting very long because no one there has the knowledge he does nor do they want to learn. Of course the company may fold before he retires with the way things are going then the decision will be removed from his hands. I want him to retire and enjoy the time we have left together, I hate seeing him so stressed over that place and I think a trike would certainly take his mind off everything especially if he bought a kit and did it himself, it would keep him occupied for awhile. Enough of my rambling today thanks for reading, I had a very nice Easter and thanks for your kind thoughts.

Happy Easter

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Happy Easter to everyone, it’s a beautiful sunny day here in PA and that of course makes for a brighter day. I’m sure everyone that celebrates the true meaning of Easter and rebirth are overjoyed. I know Bill’s children and grandbabies all dressed in their new finery and went to the sunrise service.

We plan on taking a bike ride since it’s so nice out and then we’ll go over and have Easter dinner with the kids. When we’re out riding and looking at nature all around is when I do my best thinking and talking to God and that’s when I feel peace in my heart and soul and I feel grateful to be alive.

Holidays Always Remind Me Of My Son

Posted by: jude   in Home and Family

A mind is a terrible thing to waste and today mine feels like it’s atrophied, believe me that’s not a very good feeling. My mind feels totally blank, usually I have something going on up there, but today I can’t even find a subject that is bothering me or I need an answer for, I just feel blah. Maybe it’s because of Easter and it’s raining today and I’ve been looking at Eric’s baby pictures and remembering how excited he always was during holidays.

It’s been almost 4 months since he passed away and if it hadn’t been for blogging and keeping my mind occupied I’m not sure where my misery might have taken me. It almost feels like I have been sleep walking and everything seems like a dream. In my office I have his pictures all around me, no it’s not like a shrine or anything they just seem to comfort me and give me strength to go another day in this reality. I take comfort in knowing his soul is safe, but I miss him.

Eric 2 months old:

I’ve tried many things online to make extra money, but viewing e-mails for two cents each hasn’t been one of them until last week. I thought why not try it when I saw the above ad on someones blog. Since they were giving me 10 dollars to sign up and get me started in the right direction to the 25 dollar pay out. Don’t laugh too hard because you’re smarter than me.

I’m laughing at myself now because at the rate they are giving me e-mails to read I’ll probably be 90 years old before I reach that 25 dollar payout. Of course if I had hundreds of people sign up under me and they read e-mails I would get a penny more while they still get their two cents, but it’s hard to get sign ups so I don’t see this program lasting very long for me or anyone else.

I have never been good at marketing although I have tried many things over the years I’ve been online. I’m not good at selling, but I was always a sucker for buying until I got burned too many times. It now takes a stick of dynamite to make me part with my money, but I will try a program if it’s free and I can possibly make a few bucks, but I’d like to see those few bucks before I die.

I have come to the conclusion that people shouldn’t sign up for reading e-mails it’s just not worth the time or effort, not that it really takes either, you just don’t get enough e-mails to read to make it worth while. I’m sure someone will tell me that they have made good money doing this, but I don’t think I’ll believe them. I hope everyone that celebrates Easter will have a great one.

Does Your Widget Represent Your Blog?

Posted by: jude   in Marketing Online

This is my widget, if you saw it what in the world would you think my blog was about? I never really thought about it until I started clicking on other widgets and ended up on blogs that had nothing to do with what the widget implied. Lately when I have been dropping from my inbox I’ve really started watching closer because I try to reciprocate drops and the ones that really get me are the ones that have an attractive woman which lead to a marketing blog. I noticed this a lot more since the new changes at Entrecard and when I would check the blogs to approve or reject.

What in the world does having a picture of a young woman on a widget have to do with a marketing blog? I ran into a few widgets that one would assume belonged to a man trying to lure men to the blog, but the photos on those widgets belong not to a man and his blog, but to a woman that runs the blog. We are all use to men and advertising agencies being sexist and trying to get the attention of perverted men, but for a woman to stoop as low as men and use her own sex to lure simply boggles my mind.

Actually it doesn’t boggle my mind I just said that why shouldn’t that poor woman use the same tactics as her male marketing counterpart, most do have words that let you know it’s actually something to do with marketing, but why use a woman to get someone to click? Because she knows it works so why bother and be original and come up with something else that actually sells other than using a woman’s sexuality to stir a mans senses? Usually when I see an animal I think it’s a blog about animals or a baby leads me to believe it is a blog about babies.

I’ve been thinking about changing my widget, but by now it is recognized and people already associate it with a baby boomer that likes to ride a scooter and may or may not be senile depending on the post they might read on any particular day. I write about the things that concern me and lately that has been Entrecard because it seems to be on everyones mind right now. This will be my last post about Entrecard I may mention the program from time to time, but I wont devote another post to it. I’m sure people that don’t use the program have heard enough, sorry to those that don’t know what I’m typing about.
