Ectopic Pregnancy

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Jodi was rushed to the hospital yesterday and after tests and a cat scan they discovered she had an ectopic pregnancy. The fertilized egg hadn’t been able to get all the way out of the fallopian tube so it was growing in the tube and partially on the uterus and the pain was apparently worse than labor according to her. She lost a lot of blood and they did surgery, but hopefully she’s okay now and will get to go home in a couple of days, they also cut her tubes so it wont happen again. I have no clue at this point if they were using birth control, but since she’s a nurse I’m sure they were using something.

She just had Natalie in August so that’s 9 months and they hadn’t planned on having more. I’m not sure how far the pregnancy was yet because we don’t really have all the information, just thought I would update from yesterdays post. We had Nate until his Father came and picked him up at 10 last night and we were all tired and cranky. Hospitals are no places for little boys especially when they are bored so he came home with us. He was very worried about his mommy hopefully they kept him home today so he can visit her and see that she’s okay. Thanks for reading and the concern.

Been there, had that, not a pleasant experience, and very painful. Hope her recovery goes smoothly. I remember, I got very depressed after the surgery, the body still thought it was pregnant for a while (of course it also ended my ability to have Children). thanks for dropping by:-)

I’m glad she’s doing o.k. I’ve heard that it’s extremely painful.

Not a nice experience. And hard to deal emotionally with not being able to have more children, when one hasn’t thought about it and decided. Hugs and prayers to you all.

Most of the ectopic pregnancies take place in the fallopian tubes, this condition is called as tubular pregnancy. If it is not diagonised on time, the woman can face severe bleeding. One should go for regular checking and should consult doctor. Smoking increases the likelihood of ectopic pregnancy, so one should strictly avoid smoking.
