Adam Lambert’s version of “Mad World” which I love and listen to over and over this one was from the Regis and Kelly Show. The link after this video is from Tears For Fears doing the original and you can no longer embed the You Tube video so you can click the link to hear that if you don’t remember it and also a rare video from 82 that was submitted below that link. Following that is the Gary Jules version. Hands down even though I love Tears For Fear I can listen To Adam’s version over and over.

I removed the video’s below because they were slowing my blog down too much, but left the links:

Whoa, I was way off. For I thought Mad World was an old REM song, and it was the Gary Jules version that I had in mind. Anyway, Adam Lambert absolutely kills on this song, and I see him becoming a mega-star of epic proportions in the very near future.

I think it’s important to remember that Tears For Fears wrote the song, part of The Hurting album which is one of the least appreciated works of genius in the music industry. Credit should be given where credit is due ;) I grew up listening to them at school – there were some amazing acts in the early eighties soon to be replaced by idiots after some big bucks. Another incredible band of the time was Bauhaus, again not at all appreciated by many out there. Check out the song ‘Bela Lugosi’s Eyes’ sometime!

Thanks Paul I’ll check that out and I certainly loved Mad World back in the 80′s when they wrote it, but it simply sounds more haunting when Lambert does it.
