Ectopic Pregnancy

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Jodi was rushed to the hospital yesterday and after tests and a cat scan they discovered she had an ectopic pregnancy. The fertilized egg hadn’t been able to get all the way out of the fallopian tube so it was growing in the tube and partially on the uterus and the pain was apparently worse than labor according to her. She lost a lot of blood and they did surgery, but hopefully she’s okay now and will get to go home in a couple of days, they also cut her tubes so it wont happen again. I have no clue at this point if they were using birth control, but since she’s a nurse I’m sure they were using something.

She just had Natalie in August so that’s 9 months and they hadn’t planned on having more. I’m not sure how far the pregnancy was yet because we don’t really have all the information, just thought I would update from yesterdays post. We had Nate until his Father came and picked him up at 10 last night and we were all tired and cranky. Hospitals are no places for little boys especially when they are bored so he came home with us. He was very worried about his mommy hopefully they kept him home today so he can visit her and see that she’s okay. Thanks for reading and the concern.

I hate when I feel like my time has been wasted and the first 3 days of this week were 3 of the most wasted tiring days I have spent in a very long time. I certainly didn’t feel like messing with the computer after getting home at 5 o’clock and I wasn’t suppose to talk about jury duty service till it was done, for me it was a horrible mess although I noticed that many people had looked forward to actually having the experience of sitting on a trial and hearing the cases and deliberating. Have you ever been summoned for jury duty?

In 56 years of being alive I have never been summoned to report for jury duty so I had no clue what to fully expect, I was a nervous wreck and I now realize that I should have written them a letter explaining my circumstances. You have 10 days to reply to a summons if you have a valid reason for not being able to attend and do your “duty”. Some people consider it an honor to sit on a jury, but I do not. I do not want to be responsible for other people’s punishment or to decide if they are innocent or guilty.

They send you a questionnaire to fill out before you go and it’s like an interrogation, they want your life history and how you feel about being able to follow the judges instructions after you hear a case and if I had known about jury nullification at the time I would have listed that I was in favor of it. If you don’t know what that is which I didn’t because it wasn’t something that ever concerned me before then I would suggest you do a little research so you’ll know what rights you have as a juror.

The Free Library-Jury nullification you might find that of interest just encase you are ever called basically when you think a punishment doesn’t fit a crime you have the power to veto and disregard the judges instructions and find that defendant not guilty even though there is evidence stating otherwise. There are many other sources that you can read from just do a search. At least now they can’t call me for another 3 years and I’m sure I will come up with some valid reason for getting out of it next time.

Tomorrow I’ll tell you some more I have to go right now because Bill just came home from work and they have taken his daughter by ambulance to the hospital.

I’m done with jury selection duty finally, 3 days was way too much for me. I am only sticking in a small update right now so you will know I’m still around and kicking. I haven’t been around doing any socializing for a few days so I’m sure people think I have languished away somewhere and expired.

Tomorrow I will get back to my regular schedule and give some information on the process I went through and all of the different types of people I ran into at the courthouse and the procedures that you can look forward to if you are selected for jury duty service and also inform you about jury nullification.

Real life has been interfering with my virtual world lately so I can’t seem to catch up with anything or even do any work on some of the programs I’m involved with. I apologize to Entrecard users for not dropping lately, but things are weird on my end. Since it’s a rainy day this Sunday  I may get to do some of that later. As we get into warmer weather I probably wont be on here as much as during the Winter anyhow. Sometimes I prefer my virtual world, but even it gets hectic.

Monday I have to report for jury duty selection, which I totally dread. I’ve been lucky through the years and have missed this experience, but it’s finally caught up with me. I feel quite sure that I wont be selected so it will be a wasted day or two. I really hate being forced to get out of my comfort zone. It’s a good thing they said I could wear jeans because that’s all that I own and I’ll be danged if I’m gonna spend money for appropriate apparel whatever that might be.

I’ve been busy backing up my files on a portable hard disk because with the incident last week I have no clue when something else might happen to this computer, it is 5 years old so I’ve been lucky I guess. I keep waiting to get my laptop, but something else always comes up that I need the money for. I need to go take care of Shadow, he’s downstairs barking and carrying on like he’s wounded and Bill’s at the grocery store so I’m elected, have a great Sunday.

2 Days Without My PC- Bummer

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

I had to put my pc in the shop on the 29th and thank goodness they only had to replace the supply source it wouldn’t turn on at all. I just got it back this morning and when I plugged it back in the monitor wouldn’t come on it just kept click click clicking, in a panic I called Bill at work and he told me to call the technician back and that guy told me that he couldn’t tell me anything without seeing it which makes perfect sense of course, but he did say that it would be cheaper to buy a new one than have it worked on.

So I started calling around and the best price I found was at Office Max they had a 19 inch wide screen on sale for 119 dollars. He also told me to bring mine in and they would check it to make sure it was the monitor and not a video card. They weren’t far from us so Bill came home from work and ran me over and of course I forgot the power cord to my old one and had to come back and get it and go back again. He plugged it in and it went nuts so I got the new monitor.

Bill dropped me off at home and went back to work. I unpacked it, put it together and it wouldn’t turn on and I started to panic again so after I calmed myself down I went back over everything and checked all the plugs and I didn’t have the power cord all the way in, what a relief like magic the darn thing came on. So I started to check everything and when I loaded my blog with this huge screen I saw the header wasn’t centered and managed to work myself up again.

Since I had modified the theme I had it off center, but on my little 15 inch screen it had looked fine so I didn’t realize how awful it looked. It took me an hour to figure out what I did wrong and fix it so if it doesn’t look right to anyone I would appreciate someone letting me know, thanks in advance. Now that I have that sorted I can get on with normal things. I apologise to those from Entrecard for not being able to drop, but I did manage to get a lot of things sorted on the home front in 2 days.

I just noticed there’s no where to plug in my speakers on the monitor, but I’ll deal with that later. Take care everyone and have a great weekend.
