york-square-bike-night
No one knows yet if this is our last York Bike night in downtown York where they block off the roads so the motorcycle parade starting from the York fairgrounds to downtown can run without interference. People line the streets to watch the parade. We usually like to go downtown and watch the parade and then walk around and check out the vendors and listen to the bands, but this year we decided to ride in the parade. They started lining up around 5 and it was very well planned out so it went off without a hitch at 6:00 last night. I just noticed the time is off on my camera.

I tried to take some pictures, but my camera was acting up.  I bet there were at least 2,000 bikes and it seemed like a lot more than 2 years ago. We missed it last year because we were in Kentucky. I think everyone is afraid that this is the last one since Harley may be moving their plant and they are the big draw and sponsor for this event. People come from all over the country to have fun, socialize, take demo rides and ride in the parade, it’s a big event for York and pulls in a lot of revenue, if Harley moves their plant then York will be hurting. I’ll post more tomorrow.

Hi Jude! I love the shot you got. I really get a sense of the motion and speed whirling by.

I love bikes and use to ride before I married Walter almost 30 years ago now. He’s never even been on a bike. I don’t have a clue what happened to him in the 60′s but he seems to have missed the entire decade.

He once bought a Led Zeppelin album thinking it was Blue Grass. I’m telling you he completely missed an entire decade.

I do so hope this will not be the last one. But, I keep up with Harley a little bit and I am aware they way over extended them selves and are hurting now.

I do so hope your town doesn’t lose the plant. Oh boy oh boy, this economy is something else.

I have spent this entire week collecting links to some of my favorite blogs and you have become one of those.

If EC doesn’t announce some drastic changes by midnight the 27th I will be leaving and I don’t want to lose contact with some of my favorite blogs I have found and you are one of them!!

I hope you have a great weekend!!

My niece and a couple friends were supposed to go to this, I’ll have to ask if they had a good time. Glad you enjoyed it.

There were lots of motorcycles on the road this weekend here. It really looks like a lot of fun. I’m just petrified about riding. Short distances maybe but these folks were on the interstate…that’s scary enough in a car.
