There is nothing as fun as when all my cousins gather. We can sit and tell those same old stories for hours on end. The stories have changed a little over the years but they haven't lost the charm of childhood.

I think before tv, cell phones, and the net people did talk about more than family. In fact, historically I don't think they talked about family. People were very private, kept things close to the vest. (found this out doing genealogy and all the things people didn't know about their own families) They did talk about current events. Talking is how news spread from one community to another. They told stories/yarns that were carried from one generation to another; they didn't fill the air with noise. Sometimes I think people think they have to talk, they have to fill the air with noise. Many people are uncomfortable with quiet. Hubby and I hardly ever turn on the radio when we're in the car. Even on long car trips we chat, off and on; but we don't have the music blaring constantly. We don't have that need.

I am one that easily strikes up a conversation with a stranger in line. I tend to be a person people tell rather personal things to. Conversation comes easily to me; but I also really enjoy quiet time, alone time. I rarely have the sound on while on the computer. I don't turn on tv for background...white noise. My house is generally quiet.

Most people say I'm an extrovert; but I enjoy quiet and alone time more than many extroverts I know.

I love having visitors. That is I love that they want to come and see me, and I enjoy most of the visit. But I always breathe a sigh of relief when they've gone.

I love visiting your blog too, and finding out what you have to say. Thanks for sharing so many of your thoughts.

You're doing a great job here though, always coming up with something new to say.
Either you have a very interesting life, or you do know how to pick a topic for a conversationg very well.
I can only say, keep on going, because we're all enjoying your chit chat.
