I’ll keep an eye out for these. One thing about Akismet, is that they usually add the latest spam schemes to their filters once people start moving things into their spam folders.

I’m always shocked by how much spam it blocks. It is weird to me that so many people post spam that links to porn sites. Is there really anyone out there that needs a link because they didn’t know they could find porn on the internet? It’s just crazy.

The effort that people put in spamming is really ridiculous. Even if the site is xxx. I think that proper SEO and advertizing works a lot better (definitely on the long run) and takes a lot less effort than spamming.
All spammers get is being deleted everywhere. What is the point?

My comment system has smileys that you can add. so it would have never even occurred to me to check the smileys to see if they came from the JS-Kit system or spam. Now I guess I’ll have to.

On a funnier note, I got a spam comment the other day that I didn’t understand. I had to google everything in it to make sure it was spam and not a legitimate response to the post, which was about the Amazing Race. I’m not that great with names so I thought it was slightly possible, even though the comment was way out there. Turns out, it was just spam, but just very odd spam. Just a bunch of disjointed references to random people. I guess they come in all kinds these days.
