Duck Eggs/Shocking Discovery

Next Door Neighbors Duck/Mallard

I’ve written about our next door neighbors before and when I went out with Shadow the other day we of course were after the ducks again, well not we, he. They give him so much motivation to walk which thrills me to death so I ignore the smell and all those duck feathers all over her yard, hopefully they wont blow over into mine before she gets them up.
Shadow Miracle Walking Eskie

As many of you know Shadow didn’t walk for over 9 months and between God, Shadow’s strong will and our love he is once again walking and he gets stronger everyday. When Shadow got closer to the house he really started making a fuss so I looked to see what was wrong and had to get my camera and take a photo because I was shocked.
Duck Eggs Nest /Fake Duck Guard

This nest is right by our house and I noticed the duck sitting there quite often lately, but I thought it was trying to stay warm since the lady hasn’t provided any type of shelter. During the Summer the duck had been dropping eggs all over the place and breaking them so I wasn’t expecting to see a fricking boat load in a nest of sorts, I certainly hope the things don’t hatch or they’ll be all over the place. I hope the lady next door is getting tired of her ducks very soon. I couldn’t even count all the duck eggs.

I know this is a horrible thing to say, but can you eat duck eggs? If so, you could get a lot of omelets out of them. (Just in case you really don’t want 20 baby ducks wandering in your front yard.)

Glad to know your dog is walking again. When the eggs hatch, she may very well have the motivation to run several miles after them, dragging you behind her.

My brother said duck eggs suck and are very strong tasting so I would totally refuse to even try. If you guys want them I will totally sneak my hand through the fence and steal them and send to you both and YOU guys can have duck egg omelets.

Ugh. I feel so bad for these ducks. Isn’t there some sort of Animal Welfare that you can contact regarding the fact that she has provided no shelter for these poor things?

That is a lot of duck eggs. I can’t imagine if they all hatch successfully. Glad to hear that Shadow is getting stronger everyday.

That’s a lot of eggs. Someone better be prepared to relocate all of those ducklings far from your home near a pond.

Lin I had a big problem with her a couple years ago with the way her dog was being treated so I really don’t want any more problems over her ducks I’m simply hoping the problem will go away soon. I don’t know that much about ducks, but they seem to be pretty resilient.
