I try to compliment people whenever I can, especially if they look a little down. I’m always surprised what a difference it makes when I’m in the super market during a busy time and I mention to the cashier how well she moving everyone through the line at such a busy time of day. It feels great to make someone smile when they are down.

As far as teachers who criticize, I’ve never understood that. I think that the ones who criticize probably have more issues with themselves than they do with the poor person that they’re criticizing.
