Just like words that we attach meanings to we also manage to attach meaning with colors and our desires, wants, and needs. Colors don't affect everyone in the same way of course, but when you look at nature and all the colors just think about the feelings that those individual colors evoke in you. For myself I like Zen spa colors basically pastels that are soothing. I wish I had the reasons and answers you seek, but I don't, but you can do a search and see what turns up for you.
