Entrecard/Birthday/Ducks

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

After 1 week of not really using Entrecard sources my traffic has taken a huge nose dive from the 300 visitor range to 150, doesn’t look very promising without Entrecard, but the lift off my shoulders right now is unbelievable.

Today is Bill’s birthday, he is 62 and he has decided not to retire after all.

The ducks next door finally have a dog house for shelter.

Nothing much to update or talk about today so I think I’ll go finish up some odds and ends.

I noticed that drop in traffic, too, after I stopped making sure to drop, drop, drop cards all day. These days, I might average 100 drops a day during the week and none on the weekends.

I still get some traffic and I don’t have to fret over being “current” on my card dropping. The peace of mind will do you good…

i too had a huge drop in visitors when i let the entrecard slide. but i am so much happier visiting the blogs that i love reading and have made lifelong friends with. i won’t go back. to me it’s not about “hits” to my blog, it’s about friends that care about what you have to say. as long as i can visit them i don’t need entrecard. actually i have seriously been thinking bout deleting my account there.

thank you for being my friend…hugz!

I’m so glad you feel the weight off your shoulders. I don’t drop as much as I used to, but occassionally. I don’t check my stats too much so I can’t tell the difference.

Happy Birthday to Bill!

p.s. Thanks for voting for me!

I was getting around 300 drops a day and now that I’ve just been dropping on a select few it’s gone down to about 150. But I’m still getting comments from the same people so the droppers who count are still there.

Happy Birthday to Bill

As for Entrecard, I believe a drop in traffic is what most people who are using Entrecard will notice after they stopped using it. First the drop in traffic, then the drop in Alexa ranking. These are what I am going through now. When I was still with Entrecard, I made sure I dropped 300 cards everyday and I spent close to 4-5 hours doing that everyday. I had less time for writing and discovering new blogs. Now that I am out, I seem to have more time to source for other sources of traffic, to focus on writing and on commenting.

The Hawg, I have only been returning visits and comments to those that leave comments and it feels good, I really did need the break.

Patricia, I love seeing ducks in a pond and wish the ones next door were on a farm somewhere, lately I’m getting a lot of their feathers in the yard.

PJ, I’ll probably never delete my EC account, but I certainly wont be dropping as much after the holidays. I’m happy to be your friend and consider you one also. I really must make a list and start dropping on just the blogs I like.

Lynn, I tried to vote again, but it wouldn’t let me, maybe the contest is over? I’m trying not to check my stats so much either.

Ann, I’ve never really gotten a lot of comments so that part doesn’t really bother me. I do like having a low Alexa rank though so that part will bug me, but I am certainly going to stop dropping as much as before.

BK, thanks for stopping and the good wishes for Bill. I’m sort of having a little withdrawal, but I’m sure I’ll get over it.

RedKathy, Thank you so much for the good wishes. I am certainly trying for a wonderful Christmas and I hope the same for you.

Karen, Thanks for the URL I’ll be sure to check that out after the New Year.

I wish for a Happy, Wonderful, and Safe Holiday for you all.

Hi Jude,
I wanted to wish your Bill a Happy belated birthday. My parents are both 62 and they still work on the farm. Entrecard is time consuming and I’m glad you are enjoying some of a break from it. I do like the traffic from Entrecard, but I am just not dedicated all the way. So many blogs take so long to load for me with dial up service. That is good that the ducks have shelter now. Happy Holidays! :-)

Dial up was horrible for me so I understand about your problems visiting blogs, I was so happy when I was able to get DSL. Bill said thanks for your birthday wishes and we both send Merry Christmas wishes for you and yours.
