Jude, thanks for an excellent review and having a non-biased site that isn't a paid advertisement for Orgreenic. I too was intrigued by this supposedly "wonderful skillet" but fortunately, I'm a slow to purchase - especially off the TV. When I saw your review, and read the remaining comments and your further review - that cinched the deal for me. No way was I going to get hooked with that. Now, my wife and I went out to Bed, Bath and Beyond here in Montgomery, AL the other day and guess what they are selling? That's right - that Orgreenic skillet. They sell for $19.99 and you don't have to buy two or pay shipping, or deal with some high pressured sales pitch. That info is provided solely for the folks that (after reading all the above comments) would still like to try it out. I didn't have a desire to purchase one of the OrGreenic skillets but I did notice another brand of non-stick skillet they had there and it came in 3 different sizes. It's also PFOA/PTFE/CADMIUM free. It's made by Bialetti and the name is AETERNUM. I purchased the 12" but I believe the other sizes were 8" and 10" but don't quote me on that. The 12" $39.99 and you don't have to "season" it before cooking. It does say to use a small amount of oil and I normally use spray on Pam when I'm cooking my eggs and I've found that it cooks very evenly and is a breeze to clean. Haven't had anything stick in it but I normally just use it for omelettes. It can also withstand temperatures up to 750 degrees but I don't know of circumstances where I could or would get it that hot.

Now for the good part. I asked the manager there at Bed, Bath and Beyond if they stand behind their products and he informed me they do 100%. So, if anyone still wants to try one of these OrGreenic skillets (without the hassle and without the high pressure sales,) I recommend you purchase it at BB&B and if you have a problem with it and you purchased it there, just take it back - of course, you will need your original receipt.

As for me, after a couple weeks of regular use, I'm happy as a clam with my new non-stick AETERNUM - but I'm keeping my receipt just to be sure. ;-)

You would think you guys woulda payed attention to the commercial a bit better... i found it funny that the instructions everyone posts says before first use to put oil on the pan and heat it till the pan smokes to season the pan, however if you watch the commercial it says that the pan isnt suppose to smoke at all unlike others pans. think about this lol. commercial says it wont smoke then pan instructions says it will at medium heat during seasoning... lol first sign of scam.

Wow! Unfortunately, I ordered a some of the skillets 4 days ago. When I called, they were already sent out. I told them their website was sad. No website I have ever been on asks for the credit card info before anything else. I guess that should have been a hint to me, but my desire to have green pans got the best of me! I personally went to a pan show 30+ years ago for Saladmaster pans. I bought a set, even though they were expensive (you could make payments with no interest so I did) I still have the whole set, they look great and they work great - they are stainless steel. If you buy heavy stainless, you get great cooking, easy clean-up, and no chemicals. My only problem with cast iron is that every time you cook with them the pores of the pan open, releasing food particles from years ago - yuck! If you don't believe me - just put pure water in your pan and let it heat up for a few minutes. You will have nasty looking water - want to drink it? I think not. The pans I have you can usually only get at home parties or sometimes they have demonstrations at state fairs, etc. They are not cheap, but they last a life time. Another company out there that has the same types of pans as Salad Master is Pro Health. I have some of those too and they work just as well. The advantage to these brands is they are waterless cookware. They also have an electric skillet with an oil core so you can fry chicken without any grease and it comes out wonderfully. I love these pans. They are heavy, easy to clean, and good for your health. I have been cooking with them since 1976. They are the only pans I have ever bought with the exception of this green pan which I am now wishing I hadn't. I do worry about the lean and other stuff since they are made in China. I guess what I am trying to say is - if you want a good set of pans that cleans easily, lasts a long time, and is healthy for you, buy the heaviest stainless you can afford. It beats anything else - hands down!

Stop all this insanity, use good ole american made cast iron, I've used my grandmothers which are now 100 years old. I'm now a grandmother myself and still use them. Seasoned right they do not stick, bake, roast, and fry like a dream. By the way me or my family & now my grandchildren have NEVER had an iron shortage. If I make pineapple upside down cake you'll need to reseason, but well worth it. They make skillets, griddles, roasters and pots, grills and more. All go from stove top to oven and even a camp fire. They don't break, and you can't even burn them up I've tried and my "egg skillet", is a six inch cast iron & shinny as glass nothing stocks to it the more you use them the better they get so divide cost of cast iron over say 100 years and you'll see they are priceless.

I'm so glad I did some searching on the web and found your blog, because I think I would have stepped right in the same cow pat.
I'm looking for a good non stick big fry pan and. My husband and I were laughing our pants off *not AT you* but in relief that your experience and many of the others who left comments, helped us avoid shelling out for a pile of poop.
We did find that there was a cook off for non stick pans by Americas Test Kitchen and they have help us decide on a brand of non stick fry pan to get. Now they did say that No non stick fry pan or any non stick pan is going to remain non stick forever. The coating does degrade over time. But you can get a good bargain with research. We are going to be getting some T Fal. And I have to say this is a brand that I have had in the past, and actually wore one pan out,. I do still have my little egg fryer pan, and yes I do have to use oil, but over all it still cooks pretty good and I can still get a fried egg out of it with minimum of clean up. Yes I still use a little fat. But that pan is now over 8 years old.

Cheers

My wife bought an orgreenic fry pan from some local store and she said she seasoned it per the instructions. She can be quite impatient, at times, so after she told me that the pan didn't perform as anticipated, I had suspitions of her performing the "seasoning" correctly. After a couple of days, I pulled the pan out to fry up eggs for breakfast. Before use, I added just a few drops of vegetable oil, just to aid the non-stick function; because of my wifes previous experience. Just as with most comments on this thread, my egg frying experience didn't go well. The eggs had to be scraped up to flip them over. I thought for sure, with a few drops of oil, everything would go well. I would have faired much better with our old seasoned cast iron skillet; which typically does a good job with eggs.

After reading these comments, i'm satisfied that my wife did the seasoning as instructed, but our pan, and apparently the whole "Orgreenic" concept of non-stick, does not live up to the hype.

The only positive I can say at this time, the pan did clean up with just a wipe.

After my cooking experience, I thought I would check online for more info - that's how I came across this site. It definate sounds like everyone should avoid these products. I know this pan we have is the only one that will come into our home.

Jude, you have done everyone a great service with the posting of this page. Thanks so much for the effort.

I bought 2 pans, a 10 and 12 ". I tried to season both of them twice. I couldn't get them to smoke. Food stuck. Now I use Pam before a cook. Food slides right out with no problem. Sure not what was advertised but better then my old pans.

Thanks for all the great reviews. Too good to be true lives on. Received an email from them today advertising this cookware. Had seen the tv commercial Sunday, was about to order the pans only. Saw that it was almost $40.00 so decided to look for reviews. Glad I found this site. No more infocommercials for me. Thanks all. Buy American.
