Our Bucket List Continues To Grow

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

There are so many things we want to do and experience together before we get too old to enjoy them. We have started making our bucket list and will cross them off when and if some of those things happen for us. We realize that life is short and it’s really flying the older we get, I want to be rich, but I know that will never happen unless I hit the lottery. I have a list of all the places we want to go and I have fun checking out the attractions of each place online and computing costs.

My cousin lives in Waco and he told me that the Houston Rodeo & Livestock Show is great fun and since they live around 191 miles from Houston when we go to visit next March that will certainly be on our list. I have been to small rodeo’s, but never a Texas rodeo and we love to watch them on television. We are so looking forward to Bill retiring so we can finally start doing some of our bucket list. Just like window shopping I also like to check out the dates of these things and the prices of the Houston Rodeo concert tickets varied depending on which concert we choose or which day we go, of course I’ll have to recheck next year.

Money will  play a big factor in what we can and can’t do, but we really don’t have to have the most expensive seats, I do have binoculars and just being there would be a new experience for us both. Some of the places I have already been and would like to go back to and share with Bill, like Nevada and others will be a first for us both. I have always wanted to take a cruise, but that’s not something he wants to do, but I still check the prices,  I’m hoping he will change his mind. Our bucket list just keeps on growing and we keep on dreaming.

We have one of those lists too. We keep saying if only we could win the lottery. It’s sad that we work all these hours and all there just isn’t that much left over after all the bills are paid for having fun

I guess having a bucket list isn’t so unique afterall. I first got the bucket, then I thought about things I haven’t done in my first 67 years of living, then decided (because my youngest grandchild said I have 32 more years of living to do) that I’d better try a few new things. You know what, it ain’t half bad setting goals that are achievable and some that might be harder to reach, but it gives you something to live for and if that isn’t enough reason, well I guess we just don’t need a bucket list.

I’ve been to a big rodeo (take a big clothespin) and they are all they are cracked up to be! Fun, terrifying, smelly, loud, exhilerating and did I say smelly? Been to one in Fort Worth, lots in Denver, several in smaller towns in Colorado and even one in Europe.

Stop on by my blog. I’d love to have you visit.

I have always thought that going to a rodeo would be fun. My bucket list contains a trip to Alaska.
