Point and shoot cameras are suppose to be simple to use, that’s why I use them because I don’t know anything about cameras period. The first digital point and shoot camera I owned  was a Sony and it was a 3.2 MP, which worked great till this year and I should have stuck with that brand or a Cannon instead of the Kodak I settled for. Bill thinks the photos look okay, but I think they suck.

I was under the impression that the more pixels like this one at 12.2  meant the pictures would be clearer, but that’s certainly not so and I was reading an article at The Consumerist which explained and I followed a link from there to Petavoxel that showed a sample and more explanations for me and they say that anything over a 7 is very unnecessary. I found a lot of good info on that site so I’ll have to read more so I’ll at least know what I should get the next time.

When we took our ride on the trike to Gettysburg the other day I took some point and shoot photos with my Kodak so I’m going to share part of our ride with you, hope you enjoy my crappy photos, but you will still get a sense of what a great little town it is with lots of cool shops to poke around in.   If you want a larger view you have to click on the thumbnail and when that one loads click again for the largest view. I’m only going to post a few at a time so I’ll add more tomorrow.

I don’t think your pictures are bad. I get very frustrated when I take pictures because nothing seems to turn out the way I want them to. It looks like you had a good day, blue skies and lots of interesting things to see.

Those pictures are fine. Last year on a few of my trips south to North Carolina and Virginia I started using Hwy 15 after Harrisburg and passed through Gettysburg. One of these days I’m going to make the effort to check out some of the sites there. It looks like a nice place.

I know what you mean. There is so much camera info and so many choices, it all becomes confusing. I have a wonderful HP digital camera that is fabulous for close up shots, but terrible at distance. I use an older Sony Cybershot for most of my distance shooting.

I think the photos are not bad too. In fact they looked quite good.

I wish I had had time to take my boys to Gettysburg when we were back east. They did get to see Valley Forge, and we just ran out of time.

I don’t think that the pictures are bad, but I know what you mean about the Kodak. Mine finally bit the dust, and I wasn’t sad to see it go. The pictures weren’t bad, just not nearly as good as other point and shoots that I’ve used (plus it had crazy software that bogged down even our newest computer.)
