I haven’t had very much to say lately about anything. I’ve been thinking about trying to quit my smoking habit again. The last time I tried with Chantix and stopped for a little over a month, but I missed it and went right back. I couldn’t find the info that was supplied with the product so I found the following list on Drugs.com . The ones I have in bold are side effects I have already suffered from because of menopause, my Son dying, and just getting older so I really wasn’t concerned. Bill gets a kick out of hearing all the side effects from the drugs they advertise on TV. Makes you wonder why anyone would even want to try some of those products.

The side effects that can occur using Chantix include:  Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue; unusual hoarseness); behavior changes; chest pain; fainting; fast, slow, or irregular heartbeat; hallucinations; memory loss; new or worsening mental or mood problems (eg, aggression, agitation, anger, anxiety, depression, nervousness, thoughts of hurting other people); red, swollen, blistered, or peeling skin; seizures; severe or persistent nausea; suicidal thoughts or actions; trouble sleeping; vision changes; vivid, strange, or unusual dreams.”

I usually do a lot of research on a product or website I’m planning on making a purchase from, but Saturday for some reason I did an impulse buy after looking at one web site just because the site looked legitimate and it was for the Smoking Stick, an electronic cigarette. I decided I was going to try this since there is no tobacco or fire or real smoke, only vapor and see if this would help me stop smoking the real thing. This was for a free trial and you pay 9.95 shipping and handling and after 14 days they would charge your account 89.00 dollars unless you sent it back before 14 days. I regretted giving my info the minute after I ordered, but we were going for a bike ride so I had to wait till we got back.

When we got back I looked up smoking stick scam and came across a site that was also pushing a different brand of e-cigs and they were saying some pretty bad things about the free trial site which worked me up even more. So I sent an e-mail immediately to cancel the order and ask to have my S&H charges returned, I also copied down the phone number so I could call Monday morning and confirm that it had been canceled. They only operate during the week so I knew they wouldn’t ship it out til Monday even though they immediately charged my credit card. This other site claimed that customer service was almost nonexistent and that the place I had ordered from would make recurrent charges to my credit card without my permission.

Today I rechecked the negative post they had written about Smoking Stick and it seems they have made it private, perhaps they were threatened with a libel suit. At any rate I had no problem getting through to their support and was told that since it hadn’t been shipped they would cancel my order and return the S&H charges which they did. This Smoking Stick company is suppose to be based in Florida so I don’t know if it’s really a legit company that competition was trying to squash by bad mouthing or not. The whole experience cost me 50 cents, an International Fee which they charged to my account. Is Florida International? I never knew! I’m wondering now if I should have my account number changed.

My question is for anyone that stops by: Has anyone ever tried any brand  e-cigs or know anyone that has and what has been their or your experience? Could you also suggest a brand name, Thank-you.

I have heard of them and I was checking them out but haven’t tried them or know anyone who has. I quit once for a year and a half but went back to it when I was going through my divorce. Silly me. As of right now, even though I’ve thought about it I know I’m just not ready to give it up. Glad to hear you had no problems canceling your order

Great post, why didn’t I think of doing this? I’ve been toying with the idea of an e-cig myself but I don’t know anyone who has tried and I know virtually nothing about them. Well, except what you have written here. The cost is just enough to keep me from buying until I know something more from someone that I trust. I hope you get some info from this, I’ll be checking.

Thier phone number hangs up imediatly when you call, I can not seem to get a reply through the email and thier online chat is never open.

I have used an electronic cigarette since August of 2009. It does work. It does help. I started with a 510, they are available many places. I now use a Riva that is compatible with my 510 but the battery lasts 10-12 hours, which is MUCH longer. I recommend visiting and reading at http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com for reputable vendors and other people’s experiences with e cigarettes. Best of luck.

About a month ago I purchased the E-cigarette from blucigs dot com. I was a one to two pack a day heavy smoker and I have chosen to smoke actual cigarettes when I want not need, as it sits I have had a total of about 7 cigarettes in the past month and have had no cravings for them since starting the blucig. I find most establishments still won’t allow me to smoke the e-cigarette inside their business though despite the blue light at the end of the cigarette. All in all I would have to say the proof is in the pudding, I Have quit.
