Quick Update On Bills’ Colon Resection Surgery

We went in Thursday morning and the surgery was suppose to be at 10:45, they didn’t take him back till 2:00. No one had the courtesy to let us know why there was such a long delay until 15 minutes before they took him back.

The operation was suppose to take an hour and a half to two hours. Guess what? Time just kept right on ticking past 2 hours and it wasn’t till hour 3 and a half that I was informed of a complication.

I was told that they were successfully finishing up. He was in surgery for 4 hours and an hour in recovery and didn’t get to his room until 7 PM. The surgeon came to let me know all the details and showed me photos of the colon re-sectioning, I was a nervous wreck.

He was in the hospital for 5 days, but he’s home now and doing great. He’ll be off work for a month recuperating. Take care everyone and all the best.

Laparoscopic Sigmoid Colon Surgery Next Week

We are going to do surgery this next week and we of course dread it. Bill is really scared and worked up and of course it works me up also. Just letting you know what’s going on with us. Sorry I haven’t been keeping up, but everything is weird for us right now. Love to all you guys and hopefully in a month or so we will be back to normal.

Not sure if that is the right clip, but I’m sure it’s close.

Summer Burn Out

Bill just got out of the hospital with a bad bout of Diverticulitis and we’ve been dealing with that and a few life changes. He has to make a few decisions about having an operation now. Thankfully they can do it laproscopically instead of cutting you open so that’s something we will have to contend with in the next couple months. Just thought I’d add this encase anyone is curious or worried.

It’s been almost a month since I’ve added anything here. I can’t say I’m sorry because I’m not and I really haven’t been interested lately in adding anything to keep updated on my blog. So much happens in our lives and things constantly change, not always for the best. Not saying anything is wrong I guess a Summer burn-out or melt down after the past couple years.

I’ll be back when it gets cooler and things calm down.

Dr. David Baron, Chief of Staff, UCLA Medical Center is an actual M.D who basically did a video for smoke stick and the electronic cigarette community, an ad? It’s very interesting for people that think that the nicotine system that is helping many stop smoking is just as harmful as tobacco burning.

Nicotine in and of itself is not a cancer causing agent, it does get you addicted to the tar and other carcinogens in cigarettes that do cause cancer. I have been smoke free for over 2 months now and it has worked for me.

I am even cutting down on the nicotine gradually, but I’m still addicted to the actual act of hand, mouth, draw, blow and I enjoy it. Even if I cut out the nicotine completely I will continue to vape.

Did you know that many people eat trace amounts of nicotine in some foods? The New England Journal of Medicine confirms: “Nicotine is a naturally occurring compound. Trace elements are found in common foods and vegetables such as potatoes, tomatoes, bell peppers, cauliflower, eggplant, chili peppers, and some teas.”

Blogging Is On The Back Burner

I have relegated my blog and the Internet to the back-burner for awhile so I can get some other things done since the weather has been nicer. Every once in awhile I throw something up, but it’s usually done without much thought or pressure to keep my blog going. I’m not sure which direction I might go with it in future, but I’m loving not feeling any pressure and I don’t miss spending all that time online. I need to get some mowing and other chores done so have a great week. We did make an excursion to Boyds Bear Country and I will be adding some of those photo’s soon. That place is enchanting and kids would love it.

This is a demo recording with reworked lyrics from Alan O’Day, back in 2006 and sung by Ronnie Kimball, from the 1970′s Righteous Brothers hit. I really loved this song when The Righteous Brothers did it.

Love Lives On

Those we love remain with us

because a loved one’s gone.
Those we love can never be
more than a thought apart,
for as long as there is memory,
they’ll live on in the heart.

Today would be my Son’s 40th birthday and he always called me on his birthday to wish me a happy birthday, his way of thanking me. It’s been 17 months since his death and looking back it doesn’t seem real and it’s hard to believe so much time has passed so quickly. Each day has felt like a nightmare that never ends. I will spend his day remembering his life and everything we went through together and I will always be grateful for the time I was allowed to know and love him.
