Weird News That Makes No Sense

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

I’m sure everyone has heard by now about the black youth holding up the business in Indiana and ended up praying with the woman instead because no one had ever really talked to him before? How weird and sad for everyone involved and how much money are they making touring the television loop? Sometimes people just do the dumbest stuff.

Just this past week in my area a woman was approached in her car the guy was asking for directions and ended up yanking her from the vehicle stabbing her and taking her money. Another woman saw a group of children beating up a smaller child and stopped her car to stop it and they all kicked the hell out of her and stole her cell phone and ran off. What the crap is wrong with people?

Thank God I’m not working right now because I think I would resort to carrying a gun and shoot first and then ask questions. People scare the crap out of me.  There was a time when we picked up hitch hikers with no thought of them slitting our throat or any thing else. No wonder people don’t like to get involved they never know what some idiot might do. People are just plain weird sorry about the crap have a great weekend and don’t read the news.

My spam comments seem to go through phases. I always receive the half page ones with a gazillion links along with the usual drug and sex ones and for a couple of months I was receiving the words of wisdom ones. Now I’m getting the ones asking for my help on certain things that are just weird plus they tell me they are looking for something and then leave the link to the thing they are looking for. My blog may sound like a stupid person is behind it, but I’m not that gullible.

I’m also getting the ones that praise my blog and myself highly over diddly squat and they are actually making me crack a smile like the comment that was left when I posted the weird painted house with one paragraph. comment: “Wow, what a lengthy and in depth article but full of useful information.” now that was funny. Plus the spammers that act like my blog is a forum, introducing themselves and leaving un-pertinent information that means nothing to anyone.

Finally my spam comments have come to the following one line jokes with a link of course to something they are pushing:
1.Wanna joke?) Where does a bird go when it loses its tail? The retail store.
2.Why is a square meal served on round plates?
3.Wanna very nice joke?)) What’s green and red and goes 1000 miles an hour? A frog in a blender.
4.Wanna joke?) How do they put out fires at the post office? They stamp them out.
5.Wanna very nice joke?)) What did the sailor say when he saw a boat loaded with ewes? Sheep ahoy!

6.I have a nice joke for you people! :) Did you hear about the butcher who accidentally backed into the meat grinder? He got a little behind in his work.

I can hardly wait to see what I get next week. Have a great Sunday night see you on Monday.

The Hop/That Fish Place/York Barbell

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

I get so use to seeing things that I don’t see them any more especially if I live around them and see them all the time, but when I go somewhere else then things tend to pop out more. Recently I started paying more attention to signs and emblems or objects that companies use to set their businesses apart and identify with them.

Below are 3 such places around our area and I’m sure you guys have many unique businesses that do the same. We’re all familiar with the Golden Arches of McDonald’s or Shoney’s Big Boy and I know there’s many others, thanks for stopping and sharing.
San Carlos “The Hop”

That old car sits on top of the patio-deck bar built onto San Carlos which is like an old barn, it’s a restaurant and nightclub. We use to refer to it as the “meat market” because the clientele sat around drinking and it was like they were all waiting to pounce on fresh meat that walked through the door.

A group of us would go over after work on the weekends to dance and it was kind of creepy, the decor is 50′s and 60′s and cool though. They use to have like half a car that looked like it was protruding from the building until they built on. The only time we stop by there any more is when they have motorcycle events.

That Fish Place

Above is the pet store we like to frequent and it’s really neat, they have everything. I love that place they have a really great fish aquarium and pond and it’s fun to check out the reptiles and all the pet goodies they stock.

York Barbell

That big guy up there is huge and revolves above the York Barbell business. You can see him right off I-83, I remember years ago when they were located in the city of York my girlfriends and I use to hang around outside and ogle all those muscle guys wow what fun, didn’t take much to make us happy way back then. Have a great weekend.

Pumpkin Smashing

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Vandalism is getting pretty rampant where we live. Not long ago someone broke the mirror off our neighbors brand new car and when we got the jeep a few years ago they keyed the whole side. A couple weeks ago the empty house down the street was strewn with garbage and beer cans dumped all over the place. I’ve seen a lot more patrol cars around our area recently so I know they are trying to keep things under control, but somehow they manage to miss the kids that are doing the vandalism. I’m sure everyone has experienced some type of vandal in their area.

Halloween is right around the corner and people have their decorations up everywhere except for me I really don’t do much decorating any more.  For whatever reason kids seem to love to bust up pumpkins, last year some little brat threw a small one on our front porch and it was a mess to clean up. The other night some older kids decided to decorate the intersection up the street and busted them all over the road. Someone  gathered them together and left them on the corner, hopefully the Borough will pick them up today before they rot.

Sunday I took the day off, away from the Internet, everyone needs a break now and then. We went looking for a yo-yo for Nate, years ago they were everywhere and very popular just like the hola hoop, but now with all the sophisticated toys around they seem to have lost their appeal. We did eventually find one though and dropped it off. I remember how much fun I had with mine years ago and now Nate can enjoy the same fun Bill and I experienced without spending a fortune.

While we were out riding we went through Red Lion and saw a bunch of young people spending their time decorating the windows of the businesses with Halloween drawings and paintings so at least I know there are still a lot of great kids out there spending their time doing nice things for their communities instead of trying to destroy it. I’d love to move away from the city and the high school we live so close to maybe that’s why our vandal rate is so high.
