Grandkids/Puppy Poop

Posted by: jude8753   in Mature Not Senile Pets

Yesterday we had company, 2 of the Grandkids and they were running around and playing and Obie was very excited running back and forth having a great time with them. The oldest at 7 watches over his baby sister while they are playing and I heard him tell her NO in a loud voice and don’t touch that. When I went to see what the problem was the smell hit me first apparently he hadn’t stopped her in time and she had reached down to grab up the poop Obie had deposited on the kitchen floor in all his excitement.

I think he got tired of her grabbing all his toys and played a trick on her.

He’s still a baby and with all the horrible weather he still makes a mistake every now and then, but it’s usually only pee. Too bad he was so excited because the poop was mushy and she is quick grabbing at everything in sight. Nate yelled don’t rub it on you, but she wanted to clean her hand and wiped it all over her little t-shirt, I would have been laughing if I hadn’t had to grab her quick and clean her up while Bill cleaned and deodorized the ceramic floor. Poor little girl thought it was another dog toy for her to play with, of course I am laughing today at the look on her face.

Obie- Westie/ Sadie- Mix Lab

Obie usually comes to us and whines to let us know he needs to go out so he’s doing very well and we’re proud of the little guy. When I’m working on the computer Sadie and Obie lounge around or play, they have blankets all over the floor and toys strewn everywhere. I really do need to get my office cleaned up it’s a mess. Obie is very attached to Sadie and Sadie tolerates him and thinks he’s a pest and slaps him around sometimes. His hormones have been kicking in lately so he does try to get frisky.

Monday is his hospital day he will be neutered and his chip will be implanted and then hopefully we are done till next year. I hope he will heal quick like Shadow, I miss my Shadow so much. I really did humanise that precious animal. Of course I love these 2, but I don’t think of them in the same way I thought about my Shadow. I actually think of them as pets that we need to love and take care of and even though I refer to us as Mommy and Daddy I know we aren’t, but with Shadow I actually felt he was my Son.

Are You A Good Neighbor?

Posted by: jude   in Home and Family

It’s overcast and cloudy today and no Sun am I able to find. Our neighbor was planting his Spring onions yesterday so I know the weather is on an upswing, it was beautiful. I heard flocks of birds and geese flying overhead and it felt like Spring, I enjoyed watching the squirrels running and playing and watching the red Cardinal looking for worms. We did see a Robin so that’s always a good sign.

I am not pleased with the ducks next door because they stink and we are getting so many of their feathers in the yard and the dogs bring them inside stuck to their fur and feet. I have been hoping that our neighbor would come to her senses and give them away to someone on a farm, but I guess she likes the smell of rotting duck eggs and all that duck poop, it’s gross and will only get worse when it gets hot.

I guess it’s time to either call the borough or say something to her and I’m sure she will not be too happy either way. I would love to move away from this inconsiderate community maybe that’s what these 2 young ladies are hoping to help us decide. The one in the back blocks us with all her snow and the other is trying to gross us out with her stinking ducks. She did tell Bill she is planning on getting an English Bulldog so she’ll have to do something then.

They didn’t take care of their last dog so I’m really dreading this and hope  it wont happen again. We try to be good  neighbors, but some people are really starting to tick me off with their lack of consideration. Okay enough of my rant about neighbors, I see the Sun trying to peek through so I don’t feel as hostile toward the duck smell and neighbors. I need to take Obie and Sadie out to enjoy the Sun.

As you can see in the photo above Obie’s eye is healing after taking an antibiotic for 7 days and the hair is growing back in around his eye, so thankfully it was an allergy. I am so happy to see that because otherwise they would have had to do a scraping for puppy mites. If it had been puppy mites and it had gotten worse and hadn’t cleared up then he could have had a possible immune system problem.

Bill managed to get the bike (trike) out and we were able to ride both Saturday and Sunday, we didn’t stay out for hours like we normally would because it’s still quite chilly, but it was fun. We went shopping for Obie and bought him some Doggles, a Harley T-shirt and a hat. The hat was too big so we returned it and got a smaller one, but of course that one is way to small so now we have to wait till they get a different size in.

Below he  is modeling his new Harley t-shirt and I think we may have to return that for a large because of his fur even though it’s the right length. We took both Obie and Sadie for a training walk last night and Obie whined the whole time because we didn’t walk in a pack because Sadie pulls so much Bill had her and I walked with Obie in front. I didn’t know a dog could walk and poop at the same time, I didn’t see Obie dropping the poop because we were in front, but Bill did and cleaned it up.

Below Obie is modeling his Doggles which he hates, but will get use to them once he wears them a few times on the bike. We are planning on removing the lid of the tour pack and make him a secure place to ride with his little bed using fasteners and clamps bolted down like a car seat so we can take him with us when the weather is nice. We were going to get a pet carrier, but he would be up too far and I don’t want him to be afraid.

We did take him for a ride inside my jacket when we first got him and he did okay. I just got a new camera and haven’t figured out the right settings yet so many of my photos are coming out blurred. I hope everyone had a nice weekend and I’ll be by later to check your new posts. Bill took an early day and since it’s so nice we plan on getting the trike out again.

The older I get the more aches and pains I feel and lately I’ve noticed I groan and moan alot and when Bill asks me where I hurt,  all I can answer is everywhere. I have no clue where one pain starts or ends. I almost feel like a hypochondriac thinking I probably have everything in the medical book because so many of my symptoms sound like everything I read.

I took one of those quizzes and now I really feel bad because I scored higher than I thought I would, bummer. Of course it’s a silly quiz and really doesn’t mean diddly squat. Whoever made it up didn’t even word their sentences correctly before the quiz so it was more of a fun thing for me.

You Are 64% Hypochondriac

You are a bit of a hypochondriac, but nothing too extreme (yet).
You watch your health a little more than you should – even when there’s nothing to worry about.

Are You a Hypochondriac?

I do have a tendency to self diagnose though and after hearing the commercial on television about fibromyalgia I thought wow that could cover lots of my symtoms so I’ve been investigating this further. The following symptoms listed are from www.fibromyalgia-symptoms.org:

Widespread Pain, Morning Stiffness, Fatigue, Vision Problems, Nausea,  Sleep Disorders, Urinary and Pelvic Problems,  Weight Gain, Dizziness,  Chronic Headaches,  Cold Symptoms, Temperomandibular Joint Dysfunction Syndrome,  Multiple Chemical Sensitivity Syndromes , “Fibrofog”: Cognitive or Memory Impairment, Skin Complaints,  Chest Symptoms,  Anxiety,  Depression,  Dysmenorrhea,  Aggravating Factors, Myofascial Pain Syndrome,  Muscle Twitches and Weakness,  Memory Loss: Is it Real?, Weather Changes, The Menstrual Cycle,  Troubles Breathing?

At least now instead of feeling like a hypochondriac, after reading more about fibromyalgia I will have something they can actually check for and I wont feel bad about telling the doctor about all the symptoms I have. Of course I don’t have every one listed above, but I do have many and the good news is this is not some dreaded disease that will kill me.
