Sunday Bits And Pieces

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

Saturday was a no computer day and today will be a short one. Bill’s Sister and B-I-L were in from Ohio so he wanted to spend as much time as possible with them so Saturday was a very busy day and night and we also had to fit Nate’s 7th birthday party in, which he really didn’t care if we were there or not so long as he got presents because he had lots of kids to play with. They grow up so fast so it’s best to enjoy them as much as possible.

We did a lot of riding yesterday and stopped and bought some Pig Snot isn’t that a yucky name for a product? I thought Bill was yanking my chain when he told me about a wax that was recommended by his B-I-Law, but it’s for real and I actually took a picture of the stuff to show you  I’m not fibbing. We’ll see if it makes the bike shine better than Mother’s wax, but with that name I’m not holding out much hope. We also bought a chrome fixture to add to the tour pack.

Bill has decided he wants to add a pair of biker ballz to his trike, they hang down from the rear end. I’ve seen them on a couple bikes and even some trucks and they always crack me up. I guess it’s a man thing, but they sure are weird looking, but since it’s his bike he can add what he pleases doesn’t bother me in the least. The street rods were in town this weekend and he thought they might have them there, but it’s kind of silly to pay 14 dollars to get in to buy a pair for 12 bucks.

Well I gotta go Bill’s back from the grocery store and we’re going to ride since it’s so nice. I hope the photo above didn’t offend you guys, I mean ladies of course. It’s going to rain all week so get out and enjoy this beautiful Sunday, have a great one and I’ll be back tomorrow. For my Entrecard friends I’ll try and visit tonight, but if not I’ll catch you Monday. I’ll probably start taking the weekends off from this computer since it’s starting to finally get nice.

Computer Mouse Problem Fixed

Posted by: jude   in Mature Not Senile Misc

I love my new wide screen monitor, now I can see all the pretty backgrounds I’ve been missing plus I don’t have to do any scrolling across the page to see the whole website. That always annoyed me before because the larger resolutions always caused me to do that, now the problem is fixed.

I was also having a problem with my mouse. I use the Logitech stationary with the marble ball, I hate those wheels because I hate moving my mouse all over the place. At first I thought I might have a virus because it was acting so weird, it was getting to the point I couldn’t even copy and paste.

When I would hold the ctrl down and open blogs at least 2 sometimes 3 of the same page would open up at the same time and make my pc hang up. I was getting so frustrated, I did many scans for malware and tried everything I could find to do when I ran across anyone mentioning that their mouse didn’t work right.

Finally yesterday I decided to try a new mouse, but I wanted the kind I already had because I’m so use to that type and it’s much easier to use. I looked all over the place before I finally found one at Office Max, they didn’t even have it on display. If I hadn’t decided to scan all the shelves I would have missed it.

I felt like I had died and gone to Heaven and couldn’t wait to get it home and see if that solved my problem. It works beautifully now and I got rid of all my don’t know what the heck to do about my mouse frustration. I have no doubt that something else will pop up to tick me off in the future, but for now I’m happy.

Have A Great Weekend.

It’s hard to get started with anything today for some reason. I know there are a lot of bloggers out there with older pets and I was wondering if anyone had ever tried Dr. Frank’s Pet Pain Spray? I saw the commercial on television and have been trying to read reviews and everything I can find online before I consider getting it for Shadow. So I’m hoping someone that stops by has actually tried it.

If anyone has tried this homeopathic remedy I would certainly appreciate your input. I would love to see my Shadow at least be able to get up and move a little bit and I’m certainly getting weary of him crying, but usually that’s his way of letting me know he’s thirsty, hungry, needs to be turned, is lonely or has just wet himself. For the most part he seems okay and I can’t bear the thought of letting him go yet.

I did get a huge bottle of animal glucosamine from the vet and used that for awhile, but all that did was make his urine stink and turn his fur brownish red. I feel so sorry for this little guy and even though he can’t get up and move he still raises the upper part of his torso up to get his treats and he’s still very alert and smart. I can count the number of times I’ve actually slept in my bed through the night since December using both hands.

Sleeping in a chair for so long is making me feel like I’m a hundred and it’s just too hard to get him up and down the stairs every night. Bill and I both have our problems so it’s easier for me to sleep in the chair next to him to keep him quiet and keep the neighbors from complaining. So please anyone that has ever tried this homeopathic pet pain spray please let me know how it worked for your pet or pets or even if you’ve tried Dr. Frank’s human pain spray I could even judge from that.

Thanks for reading and any input you can supply will be much appreciated. We go for Bill’s eye surgery in the morning and I’ll let you know how it goes.

Live In The Now? What About Tomorrow?

Posted by: jude   in Home and Family

When we’re young many of us really don’t think about the future or plan for it. We dream about the future of course, but we always think we have time. Even though it’s a good idea to live in the now, tomorrow usually comes for most of us and the way time passes it’s usually always sooner than you think. For most of us we live week to week and have a really hard time even saving money for an emergency. So what do we do? We’ve either had to borrow money or whip out the credit card and it seems like once you’re in debt it just snowballs.

I know 2 brothers that bought their houses around the same time almost 37 years ago, one paid 16,000 and the other paid 18,000. The brother that paid the smaller price worked very hard and diligently to pay his home off and take care of his family. He made less money than the older brother, but he managed to pay all his bills on time and eventually worked his way up in the company he worked for. His family never had the best of anything, but they had enough and now he only has to pay property and school taxes yearly and make repairs.

The older brother even though he made a lot of money never managed to pay off his house in fact they now owe well over 150,000 dollars or more on that house and complains that he can’t afford to retire even though he’s sick. His family had to have the best of everything and the wife was always flashing big diamond rings and driving expensive cars and the wardrobe was always the best. Instead of cleaning the carpet when it got soiled it was nothing to them to rip it out and go buy new. They were young and had the world by the tail.

People have a hard time living within their means so it’s no wonder everyone is so stressed with the economy the way it is now. I really have a hard time when I hear the news about people losing their jobs and homes and instead of trying to find a way they decide to kill their family and then themselves. We the people created this world of scarcity and we can change it, if we only see the bad in every situation then that is exactly what we are going to attract. I do believe in the law of abundance and if you think positively and see the positive then that is what you will attract, but that’s another post.

Yesterday which was Sunday we decided to head in the opposite direction from where we live since we had been through Gettysburg the day before we decided to head to Lancaster, which is always a good ride. Since I had my camera in hand the duck next door was making so much ruckus I had to take a look, it was in the very small pond so I took a photo, it’s almost bigger than the pond, I didn’t see the smaller black one, but usually they get in there together to wash and cool off.

We headed to Long’s Park in Lancaster because we like to watch people, usually during the Summer they have live music and different events going, but yesterday was just families having picnics and strolling around the pond. All over the park they have signs like the one below that clearly states not to feed the water fowl, but in the next photo 3 little kids armed with 2 bags of bread and their parents totally ignore the signs as did many others as we watched.

Before loading up I took a photo of Bill and the trike so you could see what a good job he did adding my passenger armrests. The day looked perfect and sunny so we headed toward The Buck because the countryside is so beautiful and there are usually a lot of Amish buggy’s going back and forth and I wanted to take some pictures. I had intended to have Bill pull over when I saw a great view and get some photo’s, but dark ugly storm clouds started rolling in and we were trying to outrun them.

I managed to snap a few photo’s as we sped past and really couldn’t tell if I had taken any real pictures. My camera isn’t the best so I was really surprised that I captured anything. We were lucky and Bill was speeding for the most part, all we got were a few drops and it was so weird because the sun was shining bright on one side and the dark clouds were on the other. We had planned to stop at Mac’s Drive-in and have a fresh strawberry sundae, but we were in a hurry by then, all in all it was another great day.
